Overview
Kamikuishiki-mura Monogatari was released in 1995 for NEC-98001. It was developed by Aum Soft, a label used by Takeshi Kanai and Kōichi Kanasawa, and published by HappySoft, aka Yoshihisa "Kowloon" Kurosawa, the madman behind Hong Kong '97.
The game functions as a strategy game where players have to do their best to build up numbers in the cult. Actual footage and audio of the cult is used in a mocking tone, as well as (allegedly intentionally) terrible drawings of the cult leader and his troops. Random shots of scanned Japanese pornography magazines pops up from time to time, too.
The game is won when the Tōkyō sarin gas attack of March 20, 1995 is carried out, and lost if the players fail, causing the end of the world.
