I'm pumped about this game. I didn't think twice about it. I never played the first and all I heard was that it was the definition of mediocre, so I didn't think I would be interested in the sequel.
I just downloaded the demo today. I dug the single player and it seems like it's going to have a nice gritty story (even though it was a tiny taste), and I think I'm gonna really enjoy the characters. Also I'm for sure into the multiplayer. Fragile alliance is awesome, and I want to try out the other modes. I also really dig the style of it, and the gunplay feels great in my opinion. It doesn't really feel like it's about trying to be really accurate, more about shooting like a criminal would shoot, which is awesome.
I really might get this on day 1 just from the multiplayer demo alone. I never thought I'd be saying that about this game.
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Aug 17, 2010
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days makes a notable switch of the titular duo, with James Lynch now taking up the role as lead protagonist over Kane. However the two are still once again forced to endure a hail of gunfire as they find themselves embroiled in Shanghai's criminal underworld.
Is anyone actually really excited about this game?
I always liked the design of the two main characters even though the demo of the first repulsed me - luckily the sequel's demo addressed my gameplay and graphical complaints.
I did play the first and it was pretty terrible, but I find that playing through even a mediocre co-op shooter split screen can be really fun, so the fact that this game is much improved over the original is really cool and I am excited for it. The demo was definitely pretty awesome.
My friend and I have played through a whole bunch of Co-op shooters together, like Gears 2, the original Kane and Lynch and both Army of Two games. The first Ao2 was probably even worse than K&L, but the 40th day was a really solid game that we had a heap of fun with, so it's really good to see that the same will probably be true of Dog Days.
So basically, if you want to greatly improve on your fairly terrible third person, co-operative, cover-based shooter, take it to Shanghai.
Cautiously optimistic. I liked the demo, especially the new controls, and the presentation style is awesome, but I fear it could turn into a repetitive, boring, 3rd person shooter. If the story is as mature and gritty as the action it may be great. Playing the campaign co-op online is a plus as are the unique mp modes. I'll be taking a chance on it anyway. And OXM's review means nothing.
I pre ordered this the other day.. I never played the first one either but that demo. MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD and it really looks like their trying to do something new with shooters. Im interested in the story from the videos. I'm really hyped up for this game. ONLY 2 MORE WEEKS!!!!!!
I'm really into the style they are trying to go for in this sequel. Also the multiplayer seems interesting enough, i spent a good hour playing the demo quick matches
Well I'm pretty excited about the game, but I'm not sure I will get it by day one, though.
I loved the demo
