Lord Maximus Farquaad is the ruler of the Kingdom of Duloc. He wanted to make sure that the kingdom is perfect. He tried to interrogate Gingy where he has evicted the rest of the fantasy creatures. The Magic Mirror gave him the option to pick Cinderella, Snow White or Princess Fiona for his wife. Thelonious suggested Fiona to Lord Farquaad, which he chose as his "perfect" bride. He lead a group of knights so he can select one of them to rescue Fiona from the fiery keep of the Dragon. Shrek and Donkey arrived, to Farquaad's disgust. He ordered the knights to execute Shrek. Since they all failed, he made Shrek their champion. He made a deal with Shrek so that when Shrek finds Fiona, he will repair Shrek's swamp. By the windmill after several days, he picked up Fiona for their wedding. As the wedding starts to commence, Shrek objects. As the sun falls, Fiona transforms into an ogre and Lord Farquaad ordered his knights to lock up Fiona back at the Dragon's Keep for being so hideous. Dragon arrived at the chapel and ate him.
