Mario is constantly described as the greatest of all video game heroes and absolute saint of a human being, and for the most part, he does live up to those reputations. And for my first GiantBomb topic, I thought it would be a good idea if we bring up the best moments where Mario walked the extra mile for his fellow man. These moments can be from any video game or media adaptation but what matters is that Mario acts like the noble and benevolent hero we all know him as.

I'll never forget when Mario went back in time and helped the French defend Orléans during the Hundred Years War. Truly a man of the people.

I'll never forget the time Mario pulled me from a burning car crash. I would be dead without Mario.

How could anyone forget when Mario gave his life to defeat the archdemon of the darkspawn horde? One of our greatest heroes for one of our darkest hours.
