I always kinda found it weird when people talk about how they get emotionally connected to a game. Making them cry or having them need to take a break do to a heavy situation, like Jeff explained his experience with that meth girl in GTA4 I think, has seemed odd because I have never been through that situation playing a game. Now I'm about to talk about some Overlord spoilers so if you don't want it spoiled don't read anymore.

When I started the Overload dlc I thought this was going to be a cool and excited mission, like the Kasumi heist and Shadow Broker missions. At first it seemed like that. Running around trying to shut down this rogue VI, learning that this guy basically volunteered to be a VI and his brother, Gavin Archer, was trying to shut him down for his own sake was really cool. Than as you know the story takes a turn. You learn that the 'volunteer' is actually an autistic mathematical savant named David that was forced by his brother Gavin to be hooked up the the VI. Learning the story of David after merging with the VI got me real teary eyed. I often volunteer helping autistic kids and my mom works with them as an EA, educational assistant, so when I heard David wanting it to be quiet, wanting the noise to stop and wanting headphones to block out the noise, something I've seen many kids do and ask, it broke my heart. Obviously I chose the Paragon way to end it but man.... a game has never brought up those emotions for me. I hope Mass Effect 3 has many more stories on the same quality level as this dlc.

It was a sad moment to behold, but not one that'll forever stand out to me as one of the most tear jerking moments in gaming. I didn't even find Overlord to be all that amazing anywhoo, least not when put against Lair of the Shadow Broker. Was incredibly surprised for Jeff to think Overlord completely trumped Shadow Broker.

@RE_Player92: Don't mean to go off-topic, but what was the story with the meth girl in GTA IV again? I forget which part of the story it was, I played it ages ago.

EDIT: On topic though, I still found Shadow Broker to be better. Those end-mission terminals just sold it to me. Oh and I've never had a game make me openly cry, though I do remember parts of Red Dead Redemption making my eyes water.

I think he's referring to the Random Stranger character; a young girl who's a complete mess who Niko gives her money so she can move back home to her parents.

Its bloody powerful, but I can see why some people think it doesn't hold up to the other DLC.

I prefer stuff like Overlord actually, it was a rather unique setting and it fitted well within the universe, I really loved the ending, only bad thing was that I didn't quite get what happened to my crew near the ending.

Overall, I prefer Lair of the Shadow Broker, but the ending to Overlord is indeed really powerful and moving.... my eyes got a little teary too.

It was just too cliche for my taste.
So I just sighted and thought "really?" because combat was a chore and it was not an interesting payoff at the end for me.

Maybe it's because I generally never play any horror games, but the setting of Overlord creeped me out with all the atmospheric audio while you try to find your way through the facilities... that was an impressive DLC.

@imsh_pl: I didn't cry with that result, but it was a real bummer. He went through all of that, just to get shot up. It reminded me of Candide.

...if you cry with that, just wait until you play Kingdom Hearts.

That DLC had a good story and I loved the part at the end where

Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker were both great.  I didn't like Stolen Memories as much.

He did mention something about Dwayne, but I think that is separate from what we're talking about.

I am also very interested in knowing what he said.

Overlord DLC made me annoyed by the overwhelmingly loud screaming coming from the VI. Overall it was pretty good, however.
