I let it beep and then proceed to forget about it most of the time, which kind of negates the whole 'beeping' thing.

Yeah pretty much this if I'm close enough to it. I guess it's just part ocd and not wanting to hear the beeping.

If it's beeping constantly, it's probably some sort of alarm system or stopwatch and not actually a microwave. Don't eat those burritos.
