Sure, these days have almost every game sporting the newfangled 3D, but way back when, everyone had to live with plain old 2D. 2D, or two dimensions, limit the game to scrolling backgrounds, but some games even now make use of this basic concept.
Bosses are enemies that fight you at the end of a level or at a significant point in the story.
A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.
An unofficial translation of a video game, created by people not associated with the original development team.
The last boss you face in a game, usually representing the final climax of the game.
A type of stage themed around, or made entirely out of, food - often confectionery.
These are often a departure from the conventional gameplay of a game. There have also been compilations; games including only minigames. The Mario Party series has a lot of minigames, too!
Those final bosses that are simply a beefed up version of a common enemy. Typically a sign that the game lacked the budget or time for anything more.
Like a critical hit, this is a special action invoked from certain attacks in games or caused randomly on attacks by a character's statistic. It causes opponents to lose the ability to attack back for a certain period of time, and usually invokes the hit character to go into a special animation.
Sometimes when players beat a game, the credits sequence will end with the phrase similar to, "Thank you for playing!".
