I played Mirror's Edge on the 360, sent that back to gamefly after a few hours. Its on sale on steam for $5 so I am so close to getting it. The only thing holding my back is that I dont have a gamepad.
Does the game play well with a keyboard/mouse?
Mirror's Edge
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Nov 11, 2008
In a futuristic totalitarian dystopia, a master courier (in a group of renegade "runners") investigates a conspiracy, while outrunning the deadly government military, in this parkour-inspired first-person action game.
How is Mirror's Edge on the PC? (keyboard/mouse)
Plays fine. Takes awhile to get used to the button combinations, but it looks nicer. And you never know, you might get a gamepad somewhere down the line.
After playing it on PS3 I was surprised that I also kind of wanted to play it with a duel-shock, being a huge PC fan, but the m+k works absolutely fine.
You don't have a 360 pad to use with your PC?
I prefer it with a mouse and controller than either just controller or mouse+keyboard. I use one of the pre-defined settings for the left hand of the 360 controller and bind the right hand functions to the extra buttons on my mouse. It's also how I used to play Borderlands on PC.
Now I usually use the analog stick on my G13 gameboard instead of holding a controller for many of these games. However for competitive FPS multiplayer games it's all keys and mouse.
just like 90% of first person viewpoint games out there, it controls much better with a mouse and keyboard.
It's way better
A lot of reviews when ME came out were obviously done on console. And most of the negative reviews were based on the fact that it was an FPS that was difficult to control since you had to do quick movements and just be really agile. Well on keyboard and mouse, no such problem. I never got frustrated playing the game because I never felt I was struggling against the controls, or that the controls were lagging behind my actions, like most reviewers stated.
I thought it controlled beautifully with the mouse and keyboard. I really went in expecting to have to switch over to my 360 controller, but I was surprised by how intuitive the platforming was with the keyboard. Of course there's a learning curve just like with the gamepad, but it's really not bad at all.
I've only played it with my keyboard and mouse, tough I like it a lot. The button layout is definitely SUPER different though. Every time I play it I have to relearn everything.
I bought it on PC, but play it with a 360 controller, and then hook it up to my tv. It looks really nice though.

I know I'm a bit late (over a year actually) to the party, but having just finished Mirror's Edge and having read some of the comments I totally agree with you. The game controls perfectly with mouse and keyboard.
In his review Ryan complained about not being able to figure out what to do when he is under pressure, because he didn't have enough time. That's basically a control issue (or design issue, depending on how you see it) which I never encountered and I honestly hope they won't make Mirror's Edge 2 a slower paced game based on the suboptimal gamepad controls for the first part.

It plays just as overrated on the PC as the console versions.
how can something 'play' overrated. and who overrated it.
@MrKlorox: Ha! I had thought about this a while back but concluded that doing it would make me a crazy person
Well, this is a bump from two years back, but I'll answer the question anyway and say that the game plays infinitely better on PC. The mouse control makes it so much faster and more natural, and makes certain speedruns which are annoying as all hell on console actually doable. The negatives would be the lack of achievements and DLC(which can be "hacked" in via custom made maps)
