    Finish Him!

Due to unforeseen circumstances i have a seriously limited time to enjoy my favourite past time these days, on average i only have around 8-10 hours a week i can dedicate to gaming. It kills me. So now i find myself looking more and more for games which are shorter in length, Mortal Kombat: Shoalin Monks (MK:SM) is one of those games. I completed the games main quest in 5 hours and was left completely satisfied.

Mortal Kombat: Shoalin Monks is a great game for several reasons, the control system is excellent and the lock-on works exactly as it should in this style of game. The Enemies are varied and have many different attacks, some of which i found myself wanting to be able to pull off. The upgrade system is great and the combos you can preform are seriously satisfying. The Fatalities are some of the best in any MK game and there are loads of them for each of the characters to do. The Ko-op is fun and rewarding as so much unlockable Kontent is found in it, and at times ko-op mode can be quite competitive. Even in single-player the rewards are great, with unlockable characters and stages to be found, which adds quite a bit of replay value, it would be a great shame to only go through this game once because there's no way you can see all it has to offer in one run through.

I do have some criticisms though, the graphics in the game aren't great at all, the cut scenes look fantastic but the isnt very many of them. Also the boss fights while incredible varied aren't that tough.

But the games flaws are minor in respect to the amount of fun i had while playing it, in single-player and ko-op. I would recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a fun and rewarding game that doesn't involve too much brain power to play.

One last thing - The PAL version of the game does NOT include an unlockable of Mortal Kombat II.
