    Originally members of the American Football League, they joined the NFL during the merger in 1970. They are currently based in Foxborough, Massachusetts, near Boston, and represent all of New England. The Patriots play in the NFL’s AFC East and have appeared in 8 Super Bowls, winning four of them (2001, 2003, 2004, 2014). They are one of only 2 NFL teams to have a perfect regular season, the other is the Dolphins.
