    Thermaltake Armor+ MX
    EVGA 780i
    EVGA GTX 260 FTW
    Corsair 1000w PSU
    Core 2 Quad Q9450
    Corsair Dominator 1066 4gigs
    Samsung 2253BW 22"

Haven't decided on a HDD yet, maybe the VelociRaptor but I haven't had good past experience with Western Digital...
Trying to keep the cost below 2k but if it's worth it I can go over.

For the Motherboard I would go with a Intel P45 Board; Asus P5Q pro is good.  Also the ATI 4870 is a better VC.

Are you attempting a 3 way SLI? I too would suggest going a P45 based chipset motherboard - if you're not going the multiple video card setup.

1000 watt is overrated... go with smaller power unit... like a Silverstone Decathlon DA650 (if modular is your thing) - unless you're for sure you're going to build a rig in the future that requires that much.

I'm not a huge fan of the Thermaltake Armor series, since those door sills are completely useless; I'd check out Cooler Master's Stacker 810 series instead.

    Just my 2 cents...

the GX2 costs a good £100 more and will be more power demanding - the GTX 260 is less performance yes, but for a "single card" the GTX 260 shines above all over....other then the 280 of course

Stick with the GTX 260 choice

1000w is just not needed at all if you plan on only using a single card - a good 700w should be more then enough for your needs

DON'T GO QUAD - Waste of cash
There expensive and you will NOT see a big performance boost in gaming, all graphics card from now will do the processing ONBOARD the g-card, the CPU just simply will not be used for processing games etc....
go for the E8xxx series cpu - there cheaper - great overclockers and give nice performance.

Only get 4GB if you plan on getting x64 bit - if you plan on only getting x32 (x86 << Fucking stupid ¬_¬ lol) then 4 gigs will just simply put will never be used.
the G-cards RAM is also counted towards RAM space so lets say gcard is 1gig you install 4 gigs, you'll only see 3gigs of ram - the MAX x32 can do is 4GB (Ram+gcard = Very limited :/ lol

Be carefull with the 7 series - i hear they are still getting alot of bugs, but it should be okay.

Yeah do the EVGA 9800GX2, I hear really good things about it.
I`m currently using a 8800gt so I can`t really speak for it but from benchmarks and other internet related sources the 9800GX2 is a really good card.
