hi, let me explain. Recently i've been playing this game and can't see why everyone HATES ON IT! So far i've been having a lot of fun - The setting is cool and exciting. hong kong in 2020 feels awesome. Like something out of star wars. But what i like most, is how you can approach your objective in different ways - You can sneak quietly, very quietly, or you can kill everyone... very quietly. Or you can just bring grenades and a machine gun. Being sneaky is my favourite though. Not only that, but there's an assortment of "sub objectives" that will make sneaking and shooting easier, and will make you feel smarter along the way.

Creep round the garden unseen, then whack the guard in the back, steal his radio, and tell all the secuirty forces to go home. That's how you do it. niiice.

One thing bugs me though - The story doesn't seem to make much sense. At mission 4 i am infiltrating a private mansion fortress. After deactivating radios, shotgunning guards, blowing up sattelite dishes, i enter and suddenly no guards are attacking me. I proceed and enter this room with this old man who is supposedly the CEO of datadyne, this megacorporation which is dealing in some shady buisness. I greet him blah blah blah then some woman walks in and challenges me to a fight to the death. I then beat her, and walk home. WTF WAS I DOING THERE EXACTLY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?


But then, i guess it's like an action film. A bit retarded but fun and exciting nonetheless. So stop crying about how it sucks.

And while we're on the subject of crying, BAD NEWS EVERYBODY! THE HALO 3 SERVERS ARE DOWN!!!  :(

I actually enjoyed it as well. The harder difficulties where a pain in the ass though. One great thing about it: local multiplayer WITH BOTS.

I've also never understood some of the hate directed at this game. It's not the greatest fps but it's nowhere near as bad as some people make it out to be.

I enjoyed this game alot, loved it online.
And i did play the 64 version too.
I actually still have the 64 version.

And yeh, I think infection was my favorite mode.

I never got a chance to play the multiplayer... Is it good and are their still people playing it?

This is just some fanboy coming up with an excuse to defend M$ in order to defend this shit!

Meh...pretty generic fps.  But it did have some fun online modes.  I wonder, does anyone still play it online?

The original Perfect Dark was great back in the day.  I fired up my N64 the other day and man, that game does NOT age well at all.

BTW i own the collectors edition .

EDIT: WHERE THE HATE ? Depends on what you think is hate. If you think hate is about 8.1 or below (81 on metacritic) then yeah its hatred.

I actually really really liked  Perfect Dark Zero when it came out. I don't get the hate either.

Haven't played it since launch and back then I thought it wasn't that bad but really it's not as good as PD on 64. Can't wait for the remake!

i didn't like it at all, it was slow, boring, and i don't know a bit half assed.... but now that i think about it, for november 2005, its really not that bad. iv'e seen worse.
