I don't have a Vita, but I do have a PS4 so there has to be some way for me to be able to play the game on my PS4 right? Isn't there a cross buy feature or something where all Vita games can be played on the PS4?

Not that I'm aware of, BUT I think the game is compatible with the Playstation TV, which you can get for under $50 these days. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it. There are some other cool Vita games that work great on that thing. (Danganronpa)

You can play through a Playstation TV, but not a PS4.

That's the game's opening, not really a trailer.

It's weird how Atlus made it sound different from the actual in-game opening song.

Persona 4 is one my favorite games of all time, and I'll gobble up any game that involves that cast. Luckily, they've all been really good so far too.

It's a Hatsune MIKU type dancing game.

Also do any one know when the story of this game takes place? They look more adult than in the usual P4 game. I mean, maybe it's just to make the characters more 'sexy', but I don't know for sure.

@civid: Supposedly it's actually canon and takes place after the Ultimax fighting games (explaining why the characters look older) and also after the Persona 4 Golden epilogue.

That makes this the first Persona 4 thing that takes place after the P4G Epilogue. Apparently the reason for the character's looks sort of regressing back to their old character designs (before Kanji got rid of the blonde dye and Chie let her hair grow out etc) will be explained in the game. Their P4G Epilogue costumes are also available in the dancing game so we can expect to see Kanji in his full bespectacled glory anyways.

@civid: So the Persona timeline is kinda of a fucking mess at the moment so I'll try to explain.

First is the main section of Persona 4 Golden (with Persona Q happening at the same time) then it goes to Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Ultimax, the epilogue of Persona 4 Golden and then Dancing All Night.

Isn't it all pretty straightforward, barring Persona Q?

I'm very excited about it. Will swing my Vita back to being the majority Persona 4 machine - I currently have bought Persona 4 Golden and Tearaway for it, and that's all.

(I do play a bunch of Isaac Rebirth and Spelunky on it too, but they were free PS+ games.)

@sogeman: All vita games that don't use touch controls are PS TV compatible. Dancing All Night was demoed at E3 using a PS TV as well.

@welding: Well I need to finish up Arena and Ultimax then. Actually looking foreward to this game at this point. Seems like a fun farewell to the old crew (without the P3 characters), before P5 comes crashing down on us.

@alistercat: There is. The game has been shown off on multiple livestreams, and they've often used a PS TV with a DualShock 3 for the controls.

Gotta say, while I really like parts of it, I'm sorta bummed out by the quality of the opening. The characters' faces seem off, some of the animation loops look a bit wonky, plus the song isn't really in sync with the visuals.

There was a tiny, blurry gif of this that was floating around last week, and that got my hopes up. This would've been my favorite opening in the series, if only it'd been executed in a better way, because the song is awesome, and I love what they were going for!

Seems to be a lot of QUALITY budget in that opening animation.

Well, at least they're consistent with the "awkwardly moving 100% rotoscoped animations" look the rest of the game seems to have.

I still really want to play this game but I also know that PAL territories probably won't get it until next year if at all. I really wish they let you have multiple PSN accounts on one Vita because then I wouldn't have to import it.

Also I saw some promo art of Adachi for this game. Might just be DLC/not story related though, according to the internet.

@teddie: It's DLC, there's a video out for it as well as for Marie DLC. If it's anything like Ultimax, it might be free when it comes out in other areas.

I continue to be unreasonably excited for this game. I also kind of can't stop watching this, the song is great and the animation doesn't bother me as much as it seems to be bothering others. That ending little bit in particular is amazing.

Chances of a Dojima dlc? If they can have Adachi and Nanako, surely they can have Dojima. I want dancing Dojima, dammit.

Honestly I don't know why anyone would want to play this on a PSTV. its going to be calibrated for a PS Vita screen and I doubt it'll have any options to adjust the input lag.

Breakdancing Kanji, ballet Yukiko, Vogue-ing Naoto, and whatever the fuck Teddy's doing?! I don't know if I'd want to play the game, but I respect the SHIT out of its style!!
