Until now, I really was thinking of this game solely as a "Persona 4 Portable", but it seems that they're adding enough new elements to this game to make it feel fresh instead of what many of us have already experienced. Since we can assume that there will be new Persona evolutions for at least Yosuke and Chie based on two pictures, I wonder if it means that there will be more to their Social Links or if they're obtained some other way. They seem to be adding a lot of new events such as the ski trip, Halloween, beach trip, riding on scooters...; I wonder how significant and lengthy they'll be. The pair attacks look cool and unique, but I also wonder how useful they'll be. 

Dang it man, don't make me want this game! I can't afford a Vita.

I wasn't even slightly interested in this, but potential new Persona evolutions is the one thing that piqued my interest. Strange.

Boy am I excited for this game.

New persona for Yosuke just looks like an expansion on Susano-o's already flaming hair, could just be a redesign? But man, I want to go on that ski trip. How is it that a game that I've essentially already played before can make the Vita seem so important.

The word bubbles sound to be closer to Catherine than Dark Souls. They tell you what other players did that day. But we'll see.

I wonder if the difficulty selection system is going to be a total lame wash like it was in the original? At least it can't be as lazy as it was there(easy mode: 10 revival items, normal:Exact same as easy without items, Hard: Exactly the same as normal except enemies deal 1.5x damage) because you can retry the game from the start of the floor you died on any difficulty except "risky" and there are 5 options this time.

But still, I hope they do something clever with the difficulty this time. I want to be genuinely challenged when I select "risky" not fight with a bunch of dumb damage/money modifiers or whatever. Smarter enemy AI+more ruthless skill selection, maybe switch the rules of the battle system a bit to make it less generous....Its a pain to rebalance the game like that, which is why previous Persona games have been so goddamn lazy with the difficulty options, but I hope they make an exception here.

My Japanese is rusty, but that looks like a menu presenting the options "Retry" and "Return to Title." I assume it's an option granted to players to retry a battle after wiping.

@Hailinel: Thanks! Nothing new, then. The original usually handed out gameplay options by similarly blacking out the screen, so I thought that was maybe some crazy new gameplay system or something....

I wish they would talk about an English translation...

Anyone else notice the ski trip takes place during the time skip before fighting the true final boss?

With that, and the fact that there seems to be 3rd evolutions for the personas, it seems they're extending the story quite a bit. I wonder what more they plan to add during that time period, and what it would be, considering by that time they all thought the case was solved.

Yeah, this is the one game I'd get a Vita over. Can't tell whether or not if I'll actually get one, yet. I guess we'll have to see how my situation is after this game's release. But man, these guys know how to tell sell a remake by adding all that new stuff. It should be criminal!

@mutha3: I think they should just make a "challenge room" or repeatale quest to challenge the Velvet room denizens they are by far the toughest enemies in the Persona games at least 3 and 4,it's a pain in the butt to arrange the battle with them as it is and Bosses/mini-bosses are the only ones that give you a challenge anyways random shadows just get wiped after one all out attack or two if they're high level.

A challenge room would be nice bonus and all, but I'd rather have a more challenging core game available.

I'm impressed by the amount of stuff they seem to be adding to the game. If I got a Vita I would definitely buy this, even after watching the entire game on the ER.

The more I see of this, the more it validates me purchase of a Vita. I was getting it anyway, but there appears to be more added content here than I was originally anticipating. I am really glad I have only played through P4 once beforehand though, Atlus are definitely getting close to the saturation point with all this.

It most probably has to do with the game's multiplayer functionality. Is it like Demon's Souls/Dark Souls comment system? And does that blue "Voice" bubble at the upper left corner mean you can record audio commentary? I'll be pleased to learn more about P4G in the future.

I can confirm that these are just status updates of what other players are currently doing in their game. There are actually only a few different types of messages in this screenshot and are translated as follows:

• Dojima Social Link
• In bed
• Fishing at the river

From what I remember the other screenshot that demonstrated this functionality had the exact same thing going on. If anybody wants something else translated, they're free to ask, although the majority of it seems to have already been gobbled up by the Internet anyway.

@Pepsiman: I had no idea that kind of online feature was being implemented, pretty cool.

Anyone know where that information is pulled from? Whether that be our own buddy list, or just more a generalized local survey of online users. It would be great if it was the latter, would certainly make the whole thing feel more social.

I assume the messages themselves are more of a status update type deal, and just stock messages? I can only imagine the hilarity if you were able to post your own!

@SmasheControllers: I'm glad it's being released on a handheld because I have long commute times and I can play it on the bus and such instead of only being able to play it at home.
