PS5 Conference Reportedly Coming as 'Early as Next Week'

I'll shrug my shoulders until it's official. I've been duped before.

I use Giant Bomb as the barometer for Sony announcements. If Sony want Giant Bomb to really see something, a representative emails Jeff or Brad using "phrasing" that gets their attention. If Giant Bomb doesn't bother saying they will cover it; you know Sony is likely not announcing much.

Hey, I watch whatever Sony puts out. My threshold of interest is low enough that I will watch anything.

The June showcase has been rumoured for weeks now, I doubt GB will get any sort of notification its not Sony's mo now.

Its being reported by some pretty reliable sources i.e. Jason Schreier. At this point I'd be inclined to believe it. Jason usually doesn't report unless his intel is pretty rock solid.

I was pretty sold that we'd see a PS5 reveal by mid-June. In this brave new world of announcing announcements a day or two before they happen, I'm inclined to believe these rumors for something as early as next week.

If it is a game showcase, and doesn't happen during one of the podcast recordings, I would assume that GB will try and talk over it.

But I could also see that being awkward at times with all the delays that would get introduced trying to get everyone on the same page, in which case I could see them just doing a sort of recap after the fact.

Well, it's not happening on June 3rd. June 4th, however...

I'm quite looking forward to it tbh. If they have confirmation of a Bloodborne re-release and some next-gen gameplay I'll be happy with that. If they announce more details of PS5 that'll be a nice bonus.

@humanity: I don't care much for aesthetics generally and I can see that getting REAL grimy after a few years but I really like that design, does it have a reliable source?

@humanity: Damnit, now I'm curious too... Had a little look around for some reliable info and everything I saw was somewhere between "meh" and "no fucking way that's legit", that's been the only one that's grabbed me.

In theory I don't care if it looks like a nicotine stained 70s microwave but now I really wanna see what it looks like despite myself...
