Legitimately? Yes.
Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver
Game » consists of 12 releases. Released Sep 12, 2009
Remakes of the original Game Boy Color games, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are given updated graphics and gameplay on the Nintendo DS.
Are you legitimatly excited about this game?
Hell yeah. Even though my save file was deleted near the finish, Silver is probably my favorite of the pokemon games, namely because of the starting pokemon and the fact that it adds in a bunch of cool new pokemon without taking away the older ones you loved.
I think Heart Gold may be the first game I actually buy in 2010 that came out in 2010.
Oddly enough, yes. I fell off the Pokemon bandwagon after Fire Red/Leaf Green, but Gold Version was the best and I wouldn't mind playing an updated version of it.
I was, but then, I think I'm finally starting to hit a wall with Pokemon games, because I haven't touched my Japanese copy of Heart Gold in months, and I don't plan to pick up the US version anytime soon. I guess I'm just bored with the idea of "catching them all" and spending an eternity crunching numbers and levelling up in just the right way to to obtain perfect Pokemon. Gotta give them credit, though; Pokemon is the only game that's made me delve that deep down the dark path, that I can remember.
But mreh.... even after having written this, I feel a little flicker of fondness for the Gold/Silver line of games to where I might see myself one day playing HG/SS. I'll probably just wait till I can pick it up on the cheap. I can't really complain that I'm wasting so much time on them, since most of the combat is now so mindless to me that I just play it while doing other things.
" Legitimately? No. Sarcastically? Yes. "Legitimately? Yes. Sarcastically? Maybe a little.
But dude, it's Pokemon!
" @creamypies said:Haha I know! That's why I'll probably end up getting it. I can't help myself!" Legitimately? No. Sarcastically? Yes. "Legitimately? Yes. Sarcastically? Maybe a little. But dude, it's Pokemon! "
" @AndrewB: The little bit of nostalgia helps alot, I'm not sure how I feel about the next "original" Pokemon. you can't deny that they're running out of good names. "Ehhh, they can name it whatever they want. All I care about is a solid game, and since the standard RPG is finally starting to run a bit thin, I could give them plenty of suggestions to spice things up. Namely: pretty much a series reboot style reconfiguration. There are way too many Pokemon, and a whole lot of needless ones that could be left out altogether. Introduce a handful of new ones that have interesting type/moveset combinations (some stuff we haven't seen yet). Also, give it a story that actually effing matters. I'd personally fucking love to see them do something more "adult" (and no, I'm not talking about sex scenes). Maybe give it a darker tone. Unfortunately, they'd never do that, because it's such a kid-centric game to them.
" Did I already buy this game like 5 years ago? "No this is a remake. Both the film and games industry do it all the time. Get over yourself.
You could easily make the argument that Gold and Silver are the best games in the Pokemon series, straight up. In terms of awesome Pokemon added, legitimate features, and sheer content(16 gyms! Fight the main character from the original Red/Blue games). I am totally looking forward to seeing them update a great game that is, essentially, archaic at this point.
Completely. Pokemon was one of the very first video games I ever played, I loved it and I've been keeping up with it since then. The Pokemon games are always addictively fun and invoke a sense of nostalgia in me, so what could be more nostalgic than a Pokemon remake?
" @Demigonis said:Zelda, Mario, anything Nintendo" @extremeradical said:Indeed. Pokemon is by no means a breath of fresh air, but at least it isn't Dynasty Warriors. "" This is just going to be more of the same. No game series innovates less than Pokemon. "Dynasty Warriors. "
I'm gonna be all over this. It might not have changed much but I still love Pokemon and I really would not want it to change drastically.
Yes. To me Pokemon is like watching TV and finding out the original Star Wars are on. I wasn't looking for them but I can't help but watch. I love it.
I'm not all that excited, but most of my friends are getting it, so I'll probably get it too because actually playing Pokémon with friends will be fun.
I can't wait at all, hoping it renews my will to get back into competitive battling online, it is the only game series I am comfortable/happy taking the endless hours it takes to get good at and building strategies around, and well I am pretty good at it. Also going to be excellent to play an older game with the physical/special split that Pearl/Diamond brought us, I can't wait until they remake Ruby/Sapphire too >_>
I'm so excited for this game. The 2nd generation is my favorite and I loved Gold and Silver. I love that your pokemon can follow you around. Silver (aka your rival in this game) is my favorite of all the rivals and has by favorite of the rival battle music.
Just the fact these games, the old and the re-make, have both the Kanto and Johto regions also had me hooked.
So you think you had a hard childhood?
Well fuck you, its got nothing on mine. My mom practically kicked my ass out of the house before I even hit 13, and I never even met my dad. My only friend till I was 10 was the faggot prick next store who was always beating the shit out of me and telling me I wasn’t worth shit. Its not even like I had a choice, the town fucking had something like 9 people living in it, I shit you not. My entire adolescence was just moving around from place trying to get along with people who didn’t even want me.
You think that’s the worst? My only friend was an Asian guy in his thirties or something, who only kept me around because he thought I could help him get laid. The only perk was that I also got to hang around with this cute ginger chick, she was flat as a pancake sure, but damn she was a total nymph. She must have been a sadist or something cause she always took pleasure in hitting me and telling me how she loved to get wet.
But dear God the bane of my existence was this adult couple that I could NOT seem to avoid. You know these types of couples that are absolutely sickening, like they wear matching outfits and finish each other’s sentences? Yeah they were fucking creepers, and they had a cat, which was at least twice as annoying as they were, I swear this thing would never shut the fuck up.
Like I said I ended up moving from town to town getting into fights with other kids my age, even adults from time to time. The only thing that kept me going was my dream to become a Pokemon master
