To be honest the site doesn't exist yet so I can't be having any personal gain. I'm on topic and I'm asking for assistance. I don't feel as if I'm breaking any of the forums rules.

The reason people are getting uppity (and they shouldn't be rudely posting to announce their flags, just flagging and moving on) is that you appear to have joined this site with the sole purpose of advertising for a co-admin for these planned forums of yours. While it's not necessarily commercial advertising or personal gain yet, it's still soliciting the Giant Bomb community in a sense that's frowned upon.
