For all the hand-wringing people do about Ashley being "racist" in ME1, everybody sure does seem to give Mordin and his "justifications" a huge pass.

Add some vague scientific-sounding justification to your imperialist genocide and it turns out most people are cool with it.

The whole genophage storyline (along with the Quarian/Geth storyline) is probably the hardest to grasp with in the ME universe from a moral standpoint. The Krogan were about to overrun the galaxy after the rachni-wars so I assume the Turians/Salarian/Asari paniked. They didn't have the military power to fight back the Krogan and don't forget the Krogan originally had an incredebly high birthrate. If they had done nothing the milky way would look quite different in ME1 + 2 ... So the genophage probably seemed like the "perfect" solution. Like Morin said: The easily could have wiped out the Krogan with it. Then again: The Salarian uplifted the Krogan and made this a problem in the first place. Who knows how Krogan society would have developed on a normal timescale?

It's a brilliant storyline. And you can tell that beneath all his justifying Mordin had a hard time with the morality of it all (that becomes very clear in ME3). This is Bioware at its best!

... With the Division, I can't help but think that its fucking bananas that one dude wielding a baton can bum rush a squad of four guys and kill most of them before going down after 150 bullets to the helmet. ...

Thats not true though. Yes, the melee enemys mostly have a helmet and if you want to headshot them you have to kill that armor part, but that only takes a couple of bullets. Also those guys have a weakpoint, if you shoot the bag at their belt they are stunned for quite some time making it easy to kill them even with body shots.

And even the big (yellow) enemys. If you just spray at them they take an ungodly amount of ammo to kill, true ... but once you break one part of their armor that part of their body is no longer protected and it takes roughly the same amount of bullets to kill them than any random red fooder enemy.

I mean ... I get it to a degree. But this is mostly about tactics (imho). Sure, those melee guys can fuck you up bad ... don't let them get that close. The armored enemys take a lot of bullets: focus your fire. Use skills like the Hive as area denial ...

In the end I think you either see this game and like it or not, I just think it's weird how much people complain about that specific aspect of it.

I love how people STILL complain about this game being "bullet spongy" ... this still is very dependent on RPG mechanics and I think they found a good balance between RPG and shooter ... most enemys go down in very few shots if you aim right and even the armored enemys go down rather fast if you focus fire on one part of their body.
