They should just have Marcus Fenix wake up on the ship and have an adventure completely unrelated to the events of Gears 1-3 and not have things back to status quo by the end of 4. They should call it The Continuing Adventures of Marcus Fenix.

After Gears 3 there is no point in continuing this franchise. Absolutely none.

A new squad of COG's are shrunk and injected into Marcus Innerspace style. They are tasked with the almost impossible task of fighting the anger out of him. They end up discovering that sweary-mouthed Anya is the mastermind behind it all.

A hardcore thrashball simulation game would be perfect.

Microsoft is a mess. They got a a scrooge mcduck money bin when it comes to resources so any one can come in and just say "I WANT TO DO THIS" and then it comes into Max VS the Brother Hood of Magic Markers which is again another Grabed by the Ghoulies mess. And then on top of that they don't really have longer contracts with exclusives, so they are just helping companies fund a game that's going to get funded onto PS3, PC or ipad.

Gears needs a more focused developer because even Halo seems to be all over the place.

Like I said in a previous thread I think they need to sleep on it a few years until people in general care about the franchise enough that a return is The Return. Until then...

I had an idea where you could be a Gears sniper, and roll around with like five other Gears snipers co-op. They could even bring back some characters and weapons, but it'd be fundamentally a different game.

Hm, some of these joking ideas are pretty good. If the game became about colonists sent away from the ruined planet we left behind in Gears 3 to start a new life on a new planet and they encountered hostile aliens... it'd be sort of like Lost Planet except with good gameplay. If they do this I'm back on board.

E-Day would be the only thing I'd be curious to see, as it's(oddly enough) barely covered in anything. Everything either occurs right before or right after it, but never during. But if it's anywhere near the quality of Judgment, I'd just rather it not exist. What a complete waste of space.

A thrashball game based on UE could be a fun demo in itself. On a more serious note, I can't help but recall with 343 and Halo 4 where they didn't make a bad game but I can't help but wonder if they should have just asked 343 to make something new instead.

Do we let alone Microsoft need another sci-fi-dude-bro shooter? Their console needs games but serving up the different spins on the same stuff over and over and over again isn't going to help.

Do they actually describe what thrashball is? Because as someone who has no experience with this series, I'm imagining this as Gears Kart, except also Rollerball.

Yeah, its totally just american football, but I actually think trying to make a brand new sport as serious as Madden but in a crazy world like Gears would be an interesting game. Not good, but interesting.

Somewhere pretty different. I love Gears but my interest in a new one is very limited. Even Judgment with I never played seemed like an odd tack on, which I honestly think hurt the brand by being too soon and too meh.

Give me a new downloadable Banjo 3D platform and I'd be so happy. Microsoft is chasing its older 'mature' franchise's so hard.

Gears 3 tied up almost everything neatly so there's little room for continuing that story. They would have to do a prequel trilogy, probably pendulum wars, or come up with an entirely new threat. It also occurs to me that they're on the planet Sera so after all that happened on that planet that made it inhospitable they could just say heck it and leave for a new planet?

The deal with Myyrah and Adam is one of the few remaining questions left, that and just who Myyrah is, whether she is human at all and how is she able to command the Locust. That disk Adam gave Baird probably has the answers but the contents were never shown!

The way things ended in 3 left me the impression that all Locusts were wiped out (but you never know) and even if there were some left, what reason do they have to fight since their queen who commanded them to fight and the Lambert who pushed them out are dead?

The way I see how it goes is they jump a few hundred years, give humans time to rebuild and grow, a brand new threat appears ala Halo 4's Prometheans and you play as a descendant of Marcus Fenix. Boom. Exclusive money making software secured without messing with the canon.

Platinum should take the license and make the Gears of War game the People Can Fly (the makers of Painkiller and Bulletstorm!) probably really wanted to.

I just don't want a prequel. It should take place years later with humanity taking over a new planet and discovering new hostiles. They can keep it in the same universe and have new characters.
