I'll give this a proper read tomorrow because it's late, but holy shit, I can't get over how bad the new character models look in the remaster in these screenshots.
I don't really understand what this JRPG/High-fantasy Pathfinder stuff is doing in this game. Everyone seems to be all rational and logical thinking about a plan but then suddenly regress into a tribal like state the moment the word Pathfinder shows up. It is barely above calling your protagonist The Chosen One.
I've played enough Mass Effect 1 to know that at least the title of Spectre was earned.
@randombullseye: I'm just going to spoiler block this whole response just in case.
There's been a really weird promotion of Casca's rape as a key visual for the series. You'd think that the brand or the image of the eclipse would be enough, but no, we need the rape front and centre for whatever reason. It's one of the first things to happen in this game, it's in the fucking OP of the 2016 anime, and if the image on the GB wiki for this game is to be believed, it's on the front cover of this game.
I think Berserk is a pretty cool guy. Eh survives the Eclipse and doesn't afraid of anything.
What the fuck is up with this naaaaaaaaaaame?
Much like the 2016 anime, I don't think putting on grasses here will make me think that everything is not wrong.
For anyone interested in Berserk after this QL, my recommendation is watch the '98 anime (which in my mind is honestly a better retelling of the Golden Age arc due to the omissions they make) and then read the manga if you're still in. Golden Age arc is some anime Shakespearean tragedy stuff.
I don't really understand why so many of these games try to justify the teleporting in game, most people owning a VR device and playing VR games probably at this point understand that this is stage the way to navigate right now. A lot of this stuff is looking super neat, and I do wonder if RE7 is going to significantly shake things up. From my reading the game is getting a lot of positive buzz already (I know I'm likely to pre-order at this stage), and if it has a competent implementation of VR it could really help to sell the concept.
