Was fun to watch the duders play the game I made alongside two other duders (I made the pixel art for BombWare 10th Anniversary edition). I wasted a bit of time figuring out how to do proper pixel art but it was a fun experience overall. Glad to see the crew enjoying it :)
@danryckert Small correction : the joycons never use the IR for pointing/aiming. For aiming this is always the gyro, IR would require a wii sensor bar accessory also you would have to hold the right joycon backwards.
I think 3 stars is a fair score for Arms especially because of the lack of content but I couldn't disagree more when it comes to the depth because for one it seems way too early to make that call, people are still discovering the game.
Second from my personal experience I've been constantly improving while playing almost only ranked and it feels like there is still a lot to learn. Stuff like arms match-up, guiding your oppopents into your arms, predicting player movement, your arms speed, recovery..
So at the end of the day I still wouldn't recommend the game to people unless they got to try it beforehand and enjoyed the game. Otherwise wait at least six months and see if the dlc they included up to that point makes it worth it. And only time will tell if the game indeed lacks depth ;)
Still don't understand what's the issue with playing with a single joycon, to me it's just meant for a quick multiplayer session with friends. It's not the best but perfectly seviceable for that purpose.
Hopefully Nintendo will reduce the price of their controllers but it's gonna get tiring if you guys are gonna complain every time you do a quick look on the switch :/
40 bucks seems way too much for that port though. Maybe 20 at most.
@the-nanomachines: yeah at launch the dualshock 4 was 60 euros against 70 for the pro controller. The pro controller also has a much better battery and has hd rumble which works well for some games. Hopefully the prices will start reducing for the holiday season.
