You know, THQ kept surprising me over and over again with fun games that I didn't expect their name on this last year, I really didn't see all this coming. :( This just sucks imo, and I'm hoping to read a story about the underdog coming out on top sometime soon. Good wishes to those who got cut, and come on THQ, we need a rally call.

@Subjugation: Bit of a spoiler, but during an assasination mission you get access to decker clothing wich you can then use whenever you want from there on.

@Shadow: No, nothing to sneeze at at all, but the melee skills are a whole lot better. There is currently a min/maxing thing you can do with alchemy, smithing, and enchanting to make some ridiculous armor and melee gear that will let you one shot blood dragon's on master difficulty. It's rather ridiculous. Magic has no bonus enchantments for it's damage, and once you buy the top spells with 100 destruction skill, that's it, your damage will never get any better. It's kind of a let down compared to the old spell creation system where you could become ridiculously powerful as a mage, now in the 40's and up pure destruction begins to struggle a bit, wich is just blah to me.

Anyways, this post here shows the ridiculousness that melee gets too with this set up... http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1266212-2469-armor-3199-damage-using-smithing-alchemy-enchanting-only-31-perks/

The short version:

Add 60 Second Weapon + Armor Potions + Bugged Marskman Potion

The Marksman potion seems to be bugged and gives a flat 130% to all damage Last 60 seconds

  • Full Daedric Armor: 2419 Armor
  • Daedric Bow: 1242 Damage - So much the display reads 124!=P
  • Daedric Dagger: 393 Damage- Marksman buffs this too!
  • Daedric Two Handed Sword: 3199 Damage!
  • Daedric One Handed Sword: 2742 Damage

Until they get some enchants that directly effect destruction damage, it seems kinda anemic compared to this. That being said I still want to make a mage, but I'd miss one shotting everything I look at. :P

@Shadow: I hate to argue, but destruction mages never really get.. "overpowered" not the way melee chars do now with smithing... Archery is amazing.. melee kicks butt, but in the 40's.. destruction magic just goes to pot without having any damage bonuses....

Back on topic.. that arrow shot was.. wild... and archery + sneak = win in my book.

@fisk0: Some rumblings I've heard about, may not be PS3 specific, but I know most reports are on PS3: If your save file begins to get over 5mb, (5.3 or 5.5 has been the average on the bethesda forums) the game starts to drop frame rate and get incredibly laggy, like fallout 3 used too. I personally can't say it myself, as I play on PC, and I've only had 2 crashes so far, from a texture error of sometype that eventually CTD'd the game. Lots of people are starting to report the memory issue though, so consoles beware. :/ Have a look at the skyrim official forums though, it's starting to crop up more and more I guess.

The biggest problem I had, beyond the iffy aiming and the cover controls (GOOD GOD WHY DID YOU JUMP OFF THE LEDGE WHEN I WANTED YOU TO STICK TO THE WALL NEXT TO IT!) that caused me tons of deaths, it's the spikey difficulty. Some fights you go through and just breeze through them, other fights, you have to take respawn after respawn and hope you just get lucky on one or two with a direction the AI goes or if you take out multiples with a nade. It just seems, odd that the flow of the game gets interrupted by certain insanely difficult fights, and other fights you don't even think about, there is very little eveness (is that a word?) to the combat. There are some areas of the game that I never want to go through ever again... (pirate boat theatre....)

heh, i JUST finished the game not an hour ago, and was kinda suprised at how the end just hit rather rapidly. Everything tied up in a little bow just like the 2nd one. I finished uncharted 2 just 3 days ago, as i refused to play 3 before I was done with 2. The paralells of the two games suprised me. I know there is only so many ways to do an action sequence, but the truck chase, with hopping from truck to truck reminded me of 2 almost exactly, save adding a horse. Then there was the end fleeing over the degrading bridge thing.. just like 2.. well this one had more jumping in it, but same concept. Done with area, area falls apart, run over breaking bridge to safety. I was kinda bummed and hoping for a bit of differentiation. Overall both fantastic games, just a touch of sameness if you just finished the second and went into the third. The ending just seemed.. way to fast to me. :/

I'll also put my vote on Viva pinata Trouble in paradise.. Fantastic game and well tutorialed. Also, another thing to throw out there, Sea life safari on xbox live arcade is a good time waster, my 10 year old niece plays the hell outta it, that and burnout paradies. Burnout paradies has a constant free roam with no consequences for crashing so she can drive like a bat outta hell and wreck into things over and over and laugh about it and show off wicked wrecks... My niece is amazingly awesome.. :P
