There was an episode of the now-defunct (and seemingly delisted from everywhere) podcast The Smell of Music that covered a number of Freddy Krueger songs, and “Do The Freddy” was somehow the least worst of the bunch. There was some awful dubstep song that just yelled “Freddy Fucking Krueger” at the drop for which I wish I could remember the title or artist. I suppose there’s an audience for everything.

I only heard the Bombcast where Dan drank the Sprite Zero and having watched this, I am forced to agree that it was not a chug.

I think Fellowship holds up well, but The Two Towers and Return of the King don’t as much. RotK gets really cheesy at times even for the series, and the criticism of the ending(s) is well deserved. For Two Towers, I can’t get past George W Bush loving it and having it speak to him while he drew up Iraq War plans. The post-9/11 time in entertainment was really dire for a couple years there.

All that being said, the WETA Workshop stuff holds up better than just about anything in movies. I could watch bonus features about the fabrication of the weapons and armor forever.

I’d been looking forward to this game, but it’s a little unfortunate that it seems lackluster. I’ll still give it a shot because Game Pass.

I absolutely hate irl escape rooms that pride themselves on their difficulty. That and zombie-themed ones.

@endofastart: I feel like it’s gotten better since the Beastcast, personally. The final few months of Dan’s tenure at East was like “Dan says a thing, Alex/Bakalar/one more person immediately jumps down his throat”. Nowadays, I think Grubb does a really good job of moving past that initial phase and immediately getting to “figure out a good Dan brain way to explain it”. I doubt any of it is mean-spirited since Dan and Bakalar are good friends, but I agree that it gets to be a tedious bit after a point.

The Snailsers will continue until morale improves.

To this day, Link’s Awakening is the only Zelda game I’ve really ever been invested in, so I will join the Grubb partisans in the great ranking war.

The thing that got ruined for me was pre-ground coffee thanks to a commenter on this very site pointing out that people with cockroach allergies may also be allergic to pre-ground coffee. It took me way too long to put it together but now I’m disgusted every time I think about it (and buying whole bean to do the grinding myself).

@chubbypencil: I have this same shirt, so I laughed when I saw the thumbnail. But damn what a great band/guy Z&A is.

Couldn’t catch this live but very excited to watch the archive! I hope this is a recurring series, not just with Neon White but with other competitive run games.
