That’s funny! honestly I ended up fast forwarding through that part as I found it so draining. I appreciated Jeff speaking up for more casual gamers

I’m happy to support them and they can have my money. I enjoy the podcasts and the videos. I’ve fallen off GB, checking it about once a week. I ended my premium and seen no reason to return.

@csl316: it’s sort of amazing. Everything that produces content for public consumption acknowledges when stuff isn’t working out. Podcasts, tv shows, radio, conferences, internal corporate initiatives. It’s incredibly odd how GB communicates so damn poorly.

This site is notorious for cancelling things without saying anything. When I brought it up before I was told that I was entitled.

@thepanzini: I think that’s my point, the boss sequences essentially gave me no choice, I had to engage and fight in this super specific way and melee and stealth were off the table. It felt like, hope you planned for this! Which of course, I hadn’t. I’m not good at video games, tlos2 will easily be the most time I spent on a game this year , and it felt a lot like the sequence at the end of uncharted with the sword battle, where I didn’t prep for this, but now I’m here.

Thanks. I think for me it stopped being scary when the monster ripped me apart the 10th time because I got stuck in the wrong corner. Both times (I’m only at the second one) I dropped the difficulty as I would have quit the game otherwise. I agree it’s the least interesting part of the game.

Am I the only one who hated the enclosed combat sections of the game? It seems weird that they force you into these resident evil style fights where you have to run a round a dimly lit area and the entire strategy is to run away and try to Jam on the reload while you get one shot off and run away.

It to me is the worst part of an otherwise likable game

@ak416: I think there’s two things to consider.

1. It’s totally reasonable to not like new content

2. Not everyone wanted gb to become something different. When the site changes to this off brand av club it’s going to lose people it no longer interests. That’s a reasonable conclusion.

Nextlander is continuing what they did before, and that’s going to grab people who liked that content. As for GB being a value, is a hard argument to take seriously when they do not post any content I wish to view. It’s not a tin foil hat, it’s bad change management.

Mine runs out in June, I’ve cancelled it going forward. I am treating this as a new site and something that has to earn my subscription new not an existing agreement.
