I will second @alex's praise of Universal Harvester by John Darnielle. I'm only about halfway through and I might actually like it more than Wolf In White Van. I'm always in the market for some decent fiction that is just slightly tonally off putting (if that phrase makes even a bit of sense).

I'm getting a similar vibe as I did when reading House of Leaves by Danielewski, now that I think about it. Universal Harvester is the more "conventional" book so far, I guess, but that's not taking anything away from it...

This conversation about The Fast and the Furious is fantastic. I had never made the correlation between those movies and the Saints Row franchise, but it makes perfect sense. It sorta blew my mind.
