Just found this, it looks pretty awesome. Any of you guys remember Wing Commander on the PC way back in the day? Those were awesome games, and it looks like the original developer Chris Roberts is now making a MMO style game in the same vein. It's a space combat simulator, but you can get out of the ship and explore planets, and the inside of capital ships as well. It's not in the same Wing Commander world with Col. Blair and Maniac, but its almost identical.

It's being crowd funded / kickstarted right now on their own website at www.robertsspaceindustries.com if anyone's interested. If you read the info on the site, it sounds pretty freakin' epic.

My favorite types of games are online mmo style titles. But aside from those, I enjoy story centric games. Stuff like Mass Effect, Uncharted, Red Dead Redemption, etc... sure those have good gameplay too, but I'm in it for the story.

Seems like a weak argument, really. If the hang-up here is that this game looks like a rip off of other titles you've already played... why did this line suddenly get drawn here, at "Star Wars 1313"? Your issue is larger than this game.

Most video games (nowadays especially) can be viewed as derivative, whether they actually are or not, there are always similar games. It's been this way for a very long time. Were always going to have common tropes, stereotypes, archetypes and mechanics in our entertainment.

As for the lack of character interaction and "witty humor and banter" well who knows... maybe it's not that kind of game after-all. Or maybe the Uncharted style of humor just doesn't fit in with the theme/mood they want to convey in this title... which would make a lot of sense, considering this isn't an Uncharted game. It's a Star Wars game.

The most recent news I've heard about the series is the Rick McCallum interviews. I don't think they're selling... Lucasfilm would never allow their Star Wars baby to be controlled by anyone other than them. They're still working on how to monetize the series because of their projected budget of 15+ million per episode. Last thats been announced in any official capacity, is that its still happening, just not anytime soon.

It's a good question though, whether the game is attached to the series in some way. Not enough information at present. But I wouldn't take things like digitally scanned actors as confirmation of anything... many maaaany games nowadays do this. They'll even use the same scanned actor for all the mocap, when it isn't really necessary to do that. It's just become common practice.

Gabe Knight 4 would be a marvel, and while Larry wasn't always fabulous, Al Lowe knew how to make adventure games. All this kickstarter talk has reached Hitler's ears, aparently! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ntvx91G7s-c

LOL, thats one of the better Hitler reactions I've seen.

And heck yeah Gabriel Knight 4 would be amazing.

Personally I'm totally psyched for these, they're going to remake Larry 1-7, including "Larry 4: The Case of the missing floppies" (Which was NEVER made originally, they skipped over it. So that'll be a new Larry title altogether.) I was originally kinda bummed at the fact they are remakes, but after I thought about it for a minute... I'm so nostalgic for those games, I think it'll be super fun playing through new versions of the same story. Plus, who knows... maybe they'll even do Larry 8. Whether its "Lust in Space" as teased in Larry 7 or not, I'm still excited at the prospect.

They're currently sitting at 8 days left for Leisure Suit Larry, and 25 Days left for Jane Jensen. New pledge rewards were added for both, so there's some new stuff in both of them now, if your interested.

Gears of War. It's corrupted an entire generation of mouth breathers into thinking FPS games are good on consoles.

Assassin's Creed.

It's not that I believe them to be bad games at all, I just don't like it when a game comes out, then you blink, and suddenly 2 sequels for it are already out, with another 2 on the way. ....I just don't have that kind of time. I love to play games, but I hate getting roped into a good story, only to have the publisher realize how good it was, then milk it for cash.

I loathe Leisure Suite Larry. So no.

The Jane Jensen thing sounds interesting.

It's all good, different strokes for different folks. But If by chance its the last 2 Larry games that came out (Magna Cum Laude, and the other one) that you didn't like, Al Lowe didn't have anything to do with those, and most of us don't even count them as part of the series.

But yeah if you want to check out Jane Jensen's stuff, try looking up Gabriel Knight or Gray Matter "Let's Play" video's on YouTube, that should give you an idea of what her games are like.

Hey, you forgot the fis... errr... reappearance by the Two Guys From Andromeda of Space Quest fame. While they haven't gone to Kickstarter yet, they are gearing up to do a new game, and want people to plug them on Facebook and Twitterwhile they set up their new company.

Cool! I actually didn't know about that. I'd love to see more Roger Wilco goodness. Time Rippers was my favorite.
