I was unsure of where to post this so hopefully in general discussion is ok. If not please move it or if its not allowed then go ahead and delete.

Anyways, a friend of mine and I will be hosting an Extra Life event in Parkersburg, WV on November 3rd. Right now we have a facebook page up and running that provides better details about the event here. Please feel free to like it and come hang out with us!

Our team name is MOVXP and right now we are planning on having some board games, card games, classic console games on 4 bartop arcades, a real arcade cabinet (we hope) and 4 v 4 rocket league on dual projectors. If we get enough people, we would like to have a rocket league tournament.

As it gets closer we will probably add more to our event. We are just a couple of guys that enjoy gaming and want to share it with the community. So if any of you have gone to these in the past, please feel free to provide advice on how your extra life event went.

Thanks and again if your in the area come out and play a round of rocket league, checkers, battleship, or whatever with us.

@fredchuckdave: Thanks for your input! You might have hit on something and that is maybe trying youtube. I really like the idea of not having a schedule and just uploading videos when i get the opportunity. Right now i stream M-F starting @9 because that's what works best for me but even now I am finding this a little difficult. But i guess my hold up with Youtube is I am not familiar at all with video editing. Its something i have starting to look into since i started streaming but i find it a little intimidating. Do you know of a program for video editing that could benefit a beginner?

@matoya: I get ya. While i understand where you are coming from this does not reflect my goal. I do have a full time job and just started going down this path because i found myself gaming in the evenings and thought it would be cool to include streaming into the equation. I have found streaming to be a neat thing to add while i game and I thought engaging with other people in chat would also be cool. So i definitely do not have plans to beg for subs or donations.

@matoya: I appreciate your opinion. Why do you say "nobody respects someone who streams?"

Hey Duders! Before i get started with my streaming questions i first want to make sure that you all know i am not trying to promote my channel or anything like that. I am generally just seeking advice from a gaming community i trust and appreciate. So yeah, i recently just started streaming (i streamed awhile back during a extra life event) and just wondered if there was any other duders who are doing the same? I tried to find a GiantBomb related community on Twitch and i was not successful. Does anyone know if there is one? Second, what have you done to attract viewers? I have started being more active on Twitter, created a facebook page, and even joined the Twitch subreddit and still finding it difficult to attract viewers. I also recently just started streaming to both Beam and Twitch through Restream.IO. So far i have achieved a few more viewers that way but no followers. So anyways, if you all have any advice i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for any and all advice!

In my opinion the games are better. Seems like most of the time the games come down to the very last second. I will say having someone quit, whether it be our team or the other, is a huge bummer. My biggest complaint so far has to be the so called "experts" who like to inform you that you are not doing so hot or that you should be playing a certain class. I'm OK with being told hey maybe you should pick something else but its the way its communicated. SNIPER ON ATTACK!? Yeah I'm gonna try it and if it doesn't work out i will switch...no biggie. So yeah overall i really like it. Would be a lot better with a team of people you know and are familiar with.

Maybe what needs to happen here is give the developer a designated time to shoot for to finish the game. If this seems unattainable then maybe the deadline can be revisited. Not giving a deadline, in my opinion, may lead to games never being finished and always in a state of "Early Access."
