We will miss you Dave!! Especially those of us who have a weird "thing" for PC games with D&D-based mechanics ;)

While I'm not shocked, I am stoked to play this. And very glad it's coming across so soon, I feel like I had to wait forever for other XBLA "exclusives" to appear on Steam.

"Urban based animal survival genre"

So that's a thing.

A genre consisting entirely of one title. Unless they made a game for Babe: Pig in the City.

@HotSauceMagik

@Aristides: Its definitely just as fun to read as it is to play. I was in stitches the first time I read Boatsmurdered.

I would say lets start a new list now for when this one ends, but I don't want to take anything away from the current game.

If another game follows this, I'm down. Just have to brush up on the newer additions to the game since I last played, like the medical system and the improved military.

this is awesome, keep up the good work guys :) I play Dwarf Fortress too but I feel like the list of players is long enough already. It's weird but it's the kind of game that's almost more fun to read about than play...

So all those shady-looking facebook games were made by a company run by a bunch of shady dudes. It kind of justifies that skin-crawly feeling I always got whenever I saw people playing Farmville or Mafia Wars.

My instincts aren't that bad I guess.

I used to be a (very very small) part of the Rome: Total Realism mod team, I wonder if there's any chance in hell of the people who put that together coming back for another RTR.

RTR expanded the map almost twice its original size and strove (with mixed success) to make the game more historically accurate.

Either way I am totally excited about a new Rome! :D

Hmmmmm the mouse controls on the PC seem like the best way to play this game. I'd recommend people get the steam version.

@EquitasInvictus:

In the days before the internet, the world still had plenty of idiotic fan boys. The difference now is that the internet has enabled idiotic fan boys to spam the web with their dumb-ass opinions and demands. Twitter in particular is a really easy way to annoy the shit out of someone you idolize.

So it's not like society is crumbling, it's just that it's easier for idiots to annoy people nowadays.

I thought no one would buy a Wii when they announced it years ago, but all the married couples and fitness-conscious females proved me wrong. My fear with the Wii U is that the casual market is now into Facebook games and games on phones. If the "core" don't want it, and the casual market don't want it, Nintendo could be pretty screwed in 2013
