Games of the year 2015 (or how I didn't play that many.)

I'm noticing a pattern on the list.

Edited to include a game I didn't complete until recently.

List items

  • The writing on this took me places I didn't expect to visit.

  • The directors cut came out in October 2015 with a whole lot of improvements. After playing a lot of Bethesda's modern Fallout, the game mechanics and graphics of Wasteland 2 made me realize how much I've missed this. The game felt like coming home. The isometric crpg is a pattern that's all over my GOTY list.

  • Shadowrun returns. I've always loved the cyberpunk genre. Harebrain schemes sucked me in with their skillful interpretation of the shadowrun property. Hong Kong edition is just like the previous chapters. The isometric squad based combat. simplified shadowrun rules with the dice throws made in the background. More importantly this is played for the writing. Excited for the mini campaign.

  • Oh how I wanted to love this game more. I liked it, but the game lost me with the writing halfway through. It is the best of the franchise when it comes to the combat mechanics. Also, there's the settlement building.

  • this game. oh this game. the cheesy writing. the quality of the fmv. bringing me back to a bygone era.

  • Imagine an alternate earth. Kojima gets the funds he wants and MGS V is released in the year of our lord 2020.

Instead we will have to settle with what actually came out.

A game that is well crafted. I just wish it wasn't a metal gear game.

  • The great eugenics game of 2015. Lead generations of families. Pass down skills and well crafted weapons. Protect the kingdom from the evil horde.

  • Firefly the game. The music. The music as you engage hostile raiders. Spacetrucking glory.

  • This game has me disappointed in the same way MGS V has me disappointed. It's well crafted, but to me it misses a certain something that Baldurs Gate had. Might be that my expectations were to high.
