So I wanted to get better at digital painting, and get faster at it as well. With the new Game of Thrones season (now almost over) I decided this was the perfect way to get involved with a series I love, and churn out weekly paintings on an episodic deadline. The different scenes also allowed me to get used to a variety of color pallets. I don't know about getting any better, but it's definitely helped me get faster!
I missed out on episode 4 as I was travelling, but here's a painting for each of episode 1-7 (still got to start 8, running behind schedule!)
Awesome work, loving the season so far (although the way the last episode handled Arya was kinda lame). Can't wait for The Battle of The Bastards tomorrow!
Amazing art! I love this show, every time someone complains about an episode being weak I literally have no idea what they are talking about, I love every second of it.
@spoonman671: I'd love that, but I seem to find it quite hard to get noticed for any work on the internet for some reason! I am putting these up on instagram though. Thanks
A) I really like the colors in the bend the knee one, the dragon is bad ass looking, the Hodor one is my favorite. Great work Duder!
B) (Don't worry no spoilers) I can't wait to see what you do with the latest episode. There was a lot in it that is painting worthy, like, a lot, haha. Very much looking forward to see what part you choose to paint.
@zolroyce: I might have to skip episode 8 then, so that i can do one for 9 before 10 comes out! I'll get on it asap, thanks :)
@zombievac: I wish! I make nothing and don't really know how. But thanks! (if you've got any buck making tips then let me know :p)
All I can say is to keep doing this work, and just as important, put yourself out there! Fail 100 times in interviews if you need to, because getting your foot in the door anywhere with that talent will surely be huge. You just need some professional experience on your resume and your talent will do the rest of the work. You usually HAVE TO fail though, a lot maybe (during interviews, etc), don't get discouraged! LinkedIn is pretty huge for head hunters these days, and really any employer.... put a list of your accomplishments, link to some work, and just have it up and available when people search for graphic artists or similar roles.
@zombievac: Oh I thought you meant in a freelancing kind of way. As a main career, I'm an architect, and I just do this on the side. I wouldn't wanna do it as the main thing though, that would spoil most of the fun. (Although I did dream of doing concept art for games years ago. But plans changed along the way as the often do) Thanks anyway! :)
@zevvion:Haha thanks, here's one for episode 8 then!

Well here's the painting for episode 9, hope I chose a scene that you found painting worthy as well :)
@armaan8014: Aha! Yes of course, I was on the edge of my seat for that moment, so damn memorable. Are they gonna kill him again? ARE THEY GONNA KILL AGAIN FOR REAL THIS TIME?! DHSKHDKGFDKSHJGFSDJKHGFHGAGIFGDNOOOO So yeah, good choice, haha.
