This was so much fun to watch. One of the best GB streams in a while. Instant classic material.
I recognized that first game from somewhere, probably an arcade in a casino at Lake Tahoe where my parents used to leave me while they went and gambled. I didn't recognize the others, but man, they're terrible in the best way possible.
This was a really good Bombcast. I loved the whole first 45-minute section about the resurgence of Japanese game industry. They talked about a lot of games that are near and dear to me. And the story from Mark at ~32-minute mark about 8-4 almost localizing Demon's Souls is priceless.
Can't wait for him to unlock Saphire Star's Guidance. Now that will be a soul crushing challenge.
Eh, it's actually easier than some of the investigations you can end up getting. I'd rather do Sapphire Star's Guidance than tempered Teostra in Elder's Recess with a 15-minute time limit and no faints allowed.
I also kinda wonder if he'll even get to HR 100. That's a whole lotta hours for a dude with a young kid and a lot of other games to play.
Ended up watching this after Giant Bomb TV started playing the 2014 PAX East Panel this morning. I didn't have time to watch the panel as I was walking out the door to work, so looked it up on the site and found this as well. Interesting stuff... and also kinda spooky considering this was after Quinn started getting harassed over her game, but about four months before Gamergate proper had happened. Anyway, it's worth watching.
One thing I did want to add, years after this thing has been posted. The last question had to do with whether the benefits of sarcasm outweigh the negatives, or vice-versa. It reminded me of John Scalzi's maxim: "The failure mode of 'clever' is 'asshole.'" Words to live by.
I too hope this is a regular thing. Monster Hunter is an awesome series that makes for good streams with lots of potential for epic moments. Keep it going!
24 hours and 49 minutes until I can play this game. The wait has really been a killer. Doubt I'll play much of anything else for at least a month, and very possibly longer.
If this doesn't end up being my personal game of the year, I'll be surprised.

Monster Hunter games are mortal locks for me in the way that From Software's Souls games are. I might like one entry more or less than another, but no way I'm not going to love them all. And this looks like it has too many huge improvements over the preceding games to not be my favorite entry.
Haven't watched it yet, but I have to say, last year's Hitsmas is probably my favorite GB video ever, excepting maybe Mario Party Party 5. If this is even half as good, we're in for a treat.
I was lucky enough to be one of the two extra hunters on this stream for the last two missions (my character name was "Keigo Onishi," which I ripped from a character in an anime called Texhnolyze). Always thought it would be fun to appear on a Giant Bomb stream, so I'm glad I got to cross that off my bucket list!
