I only watched a Let's Play of the old Nier Gestalt game, so I don't quite recall if there were any additional changes aside from Nier, but wow a lot of things are better contextualized when Nier is a kid, huh
The "we're friends now" bit near the end of the QL in particular seems to me like it would be a lot more awkward coming from dad Nier :x
So, uh, heads-up for the video watchers - at about 1:39 - 1:41, they show some glitched out heads from MLB The Show. It might be amusing for some, but it could be really unsettling too. If you hate seeing things that are supposed to look human very not look human, steer clear of that time period :x
Just so you know, Alex, the gym is your deck management node - you can buy and upgrade cards, and trim your deck. It showing a whole area-like thing certainly gives the wrong impression, and hopefully that'll get addressed somehow.
This game shows some real promise. It really captures that feel of moment-to-moment decision making that goes on in all those fight scenes you see in shows and movies. A big thing to note is that it's pretty rogue to the core - there's no progression unlocks aside from new decks and being able to start on later missions, but the game outright recommends that you do all of them so that you get all the upgrades in each area. If that's not a deterrent, though, this is worth a look.
