Game of The Year 2014 Users Choice

Apparently this list defaulted onto my profile when I created it, so rather than leaving it blank, that quasi-OCD in me demanded I fill this out!

List items

  • The entire cast is utterly lovable, the plot is consistently intriguing, world areas are expansive without being exhausting, and the home base in this game is the best out of any game... ever. Also, Josephine is utterly adorable. I can't get enough of her.

  • Utter perfection as only Sakurai can provide, this Smash has it all - although something feels missing without the phenomenal cutscenes from the previous iteration's story mode.

  • Saucy, fast-paced, and more witty than a gamer can handle, everything about Bayonetta 2 is a fun improvement over the original.

  • The best Assassin's Creed game of the year, Shadow of Mordor merges the best parts of AC and Arkham Asylum into a well-used licensed property.

  • Challenging combat is only matched by intriguing areas to explore, each chock full of little secrets of which I can't get enough.

  • A phenomenal turn-based RPG that is both simultaneously reverent and irreverent to the genre, Stick of Truth goes all-out in the South Park universe and it results in the best episode of South Park ever.

  • While it doesn't live up to the unreasonable expectations set by Borderlands 2, the Pre-Sequel brings a lot of great new characters and new aspects to the Borderlands gameplay anyways.

  • Hyrule Warriors finally let's you play as more than just Link, providing hordes of enemies for you to cut a scathe through with characters like Darunia, Midna and more.

  • Everything about this game feels ridiculously cool. From Kevin Smith making fun of his canned Superman script to Bat-Cow and Lobo being playable, LB3 wholly embraces the absurd nature of the Lego concept creating a zany and enjoyable experience.

  • A bold stylized tale, Child of Light is a unique experience that has to be witnessed to truly be understood.
