People wouldn't shut up about The New Order, so I bought it. It was okay, but seemed absurdly overrated.

I won't be making the same mistake with Doom. Those same people are saying the exact same kinds of things about this, and I now know that I just don't care.

Fable II is good if you're up for it.

There is value in people from many, many different backgrounds and levels of familiarity reviewing things.

Different people want different things from reviews. More variety is better, not worse. The "Only 1337 gamers allowed" ethos is obnoxious in every single way.

"I'm not entirely familiar with FPSs, and this game didn't effectively ramp me into it" or "I'm not familiar with 4X games, but the tutorial system here really helped me get into this, and now I really enjoy it" are useful pieces of information. Just because it might not be useful to diehard fanatics of the genre doesn't mean it's not worthwhile.

Both are great. They're different enough that it's worth playing both.

Grabbed a PS4 at launch, got a refurb Xbone for a great deal last year. Been pretty happy with the setup. There's enough exclusive/timed exclusive stuff on the MS side that I feel good about having both.

Not overly fond of avocados/guacamole, but I'm pretty much down for everything else on the list.

Things like this can be fun until they're hashtag monetized.

I do have stereoscopic vision, but I have tried VR with one eye closed. The head tracking was still enough to keep it interesting. Unless there is a game that is designed around stereoscopic 3D puzzles, I'd say you're still getting the vast majority of the experience.
