Look at Windows XP.

Because of the prevalence of technology, and shoving firmware in everything, one day my fridge will no longer receive the support from Maytag, and will no longer be eligible for a firmware upgrade.

This means that one day, your discs will not download the day one patch. They may or may not be functional at that point.

No no! Colored lighting ONLY belongs in Quake 2.
