Any idea what the size of this thing is going to be? If these are high res uncompressed textures then I probably expect this to be like more than twice the size of the actual game.

I wonder what the chances are of getting Harmonix ports on Epic store now. I know Rock Band is sort of a huge rights issue but seeing that pop up on the Epic store along with other Harmonix games wouldn't surprise me if they did as a "last hurrah" before they're stuck working on whatever in-game concert event they're going to have for whatever the next artist they have lined up is.

@bicycleham: I was expecting DICE to redeem themselves by fixing the mistakes from the previous installments of the Battlefield franchise but they didn't do it at all.

Word around the bush was this was supposed to be an exclusively battle royale based Battlefield game until if ended up getting retooled to what it is now. I guess late in development they must've realized Apex was EA's flagship BR and there wasn't really much of a point trying to cannibalize their own user base so they scrapped the idea and went with the Escape from Tarkov esque Hazard Zone mode along with Portal and Standard Battlefield.

Playing that beta it felt like such an empty game, just constantly running around each sector wonder where the hell I was even going. Then gunfights happened and they felt like the same hollow style of shooting in the previous modern-style Battlefield games and I was just turned off. Seems like most players are having the same problems they had in the beta in the current release version so I don't even know what EA are thinking at this point since Battlefield V had basically the same problem to my knowledge.

I get the feeling they're probably removing it from the store because of those dataminers finding the "cut" music saved as OGG files in the directory, along with files that are basically the original game's data. I wouldn't doubt that when they come back on the store it'll be missing a couple of files.

There is no game here though. No screenshots, no gameplay videos, no gameplay gifs. I can find no info on the founders at all. That can be just being bad at Googling, but still, the white paper mentions one of them running "a well known Runescape servicing company" which I can find no info on.

It's all as fishy as every other NFT/Crypto "game" and screams SCAM from far away.

This post also seems like a self-promoting post seeing the username, so I'll just go ahead and report this.

OP seems to be an astroturfing advertising account for specifically this service so I wouldn't expect much of a discussion.

Should've contracted Business Dave to do a Business Dave Top 10 things of the month video for Giantbomb, that would've been killer.

It's as simple as this, PUBG came out with huge success out of nowhere and Fortnite rode on the coattails of that success became the biggest game that makes a metric assload of money hand over fist. Naturally, everyone wants that success but doesn't want to stray too far away from what already has that success so they copy the thing that's popular now in hopes to make a similar return on investment. We see it every generation with different games and even different genres. In the 90's and it was countless JRPG's, Point and Click Adventure games, and Doom clones. Then it was Action Adventure platforming in the 2000's, which then got overtaken by First Person Multiplayer Create-a-Class shooters inspired by COD4 and Third Person Covered Based Shooters inspired by Gears of War in the 360 and PS3 era, which then got supplanted by Third Person Action Adventure Uncharted-likes later within the same era.

The difference between then and the current trends of Battle Royales coming out now is exactly what FinalDasa said, monetization. Since the later part of the 360 era micro-transactions became the norm and now people are spending money on Battlepasses, tier skips, and skins to flex on their friends. Live services that feed you the possibility of spending money around every corner to get some more pennies out of you are the real AAA trend right now and Battle Royales are the quickest and cleanest way to go about it for some companies.
