I'm in for a second season. A reboot and fantasy draft sounds fun. I agree with tracerace; I'm not sure moving everyone to the same conference would be best. I think it would be ideal if you could make a custom franchise with <32 teams. How about it, EA (not holding my breath)?
My season ended in an OT heartbreaker in the divisional round. After a few games with connection problems*, we finally got a steady game going which I promptly manage to screw the pooch by going down 21-0 at the half. I manage to make a furious comeback with some defense and special teams help, recover an onside kick with under two minutes and tie the game up at 35 on a Manning 3 yard run to send it to OT. I win the toss and am looking good to win, then I stink up the joint with a 3 and out, and tracerace drives on me and its over. Oh well, it was a good game I probably shouldn't even have been in (maybe even aided by rubberband AI?) and now to plot my revenge for next season...mwahahahaha...I mean...good luck have batman everyone.
Also, are we going to recruit more peeps for next season (are there any other people in the GB community who want in)? Is everyone currently in the league going to hang around for another season? As much as I enjoy padding my stats against the CPU, I only improve my game when I play other duders. And it's nice to play people who won't quit 2 seconds before the half ends.
*About the connection problem: I have not have had any connection problems in Madden until tonight, but have noticed others might have been having connection problems. After 2 or 3 consecutive games that disconnected, we started an exhibition game, quit out of it, then started our franchise game and then the game worked fine. No idea why it worked, but just throwing it out there for any others who might have the same problem.
@dexterslu: Yep. I played an online franchise game and a couple of MUT games today and the kicking seems fairly lag-free. I think the meter is too slow for all-pro difficulty, but at least it's better than before and maybe there's some technical reason it has to be that way. In the couple of MUT games I played, people actually punted and kicked. Also, it seems they scaled back kickoff power so there are no more automatic touchbacks without some wind help. Honestly, I think EA/Tiburon should have had these things right when the game was released since they've been doing online for a few years now and these same problems have existed forever but at least it seems like they are making an effort now.
@mccarron: Cool, thanks for the info and speculation. It's both weird and awesome that digitized graphics still exist in the year 2010. Now we just need HD remakes of Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game, Pit Fighter, and Jackie Chan in Fists of Fire for digitized graphics to make their complete and glorious comeback.
I have not had this issue either. I played the demo and unlocked it later. I am on the penultimate level in single player and have played the first level co-op (which I actually controlled both players, haha). I agree that you should try clearing your cache. You might try deleting some stuff you don't need too. IIRC this is a 2 GB download, so I could see it possibly having trouble if your hard drive is near full capacity. It is weird though that you did not have this problem in the demo.
Just out of curiosity, what size hard drive do you have and how full is it?
@tracerace11: Among other reasons, Gamestop's ability to conveniently forget to give me my pre-order bonuses is why I don't go there anymore. It happened the to the last two pre-orders I had with them and I had to go back the next day to ask for it. 20k coins would have been nice, though. Bastards.
It would certainly be nice to have finer control over auctions. The minimum price/bids seem kind of high. I've ended up simply discarding cards for 10 coins or keeping backups for garbage player cards since I feel like it's not even worth the posting fee. At one point, I think I had three of the same guy on my offensive line :-D. It would also be nice if I could get a new QB; the last 8 or 9 packs I've bought have been QB free. I really don't feel like wasting a contract extension on Jordan Palmer!
