@mavs: I left my retail career behind in 2013, so I'm lucky enough to have never heard this before. There's something about this dude's voice that feels like I'm being activated this peppermint winter is so sugar sweet
I've started playing Remnant: From the Ashes since it came to Xbox Game Pass the other day. My expectations were low, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. 3rd person action games are very hit or miss for me, but this combat feels good so far. The story and world are nothing special so far, but moving around the world has been a pretty tense affair since I can go from fine to fucked in the the space of a few seconds.
"Wonderful Christmas Time" is my choice here, and it's not close. I worked retail for a lot of years, and hearing that syrupy happy Christmas tune when my own Christmas Time was decidedly not wonderful was like salt in the wound.
I'm exhausted and broke and just got yelled at for the 5th time today, but at least Paul McCartney is happy. GOOD FOR YOU BUD LIVE IT UP
Good read. I love your passion and your writing styyyle.
For me 2017 was the best year in games, full stop. It gave me Night in the Woods, NieR Automanamana, Persona 5, Pyre, Hollow Knight, and Mario Odyssey; also Breath of the Wild and PUBG (though these games didn't land for me). I remember listening to the GotY deliberations and wishing Alex would stop pushing so hard for whatever this Yakuza 0 game is that I'd never played.
I picked it up on Humble Bundle last year, and it might be 2017's best game. Holy crap that game is good, dumb fun. I love the melodrama of the story inermingled with the ridiculouslness of the side stories.
