I havent watched the whole quick look but the link gun (if that's what you're talking about) in UT2004 let you boost a friendly player's damage by using the secondary fire (laser) at them.

I'm about 35 mins into the quick look and from the sounds of things this is somehow an even slower paced Destiny? No sparrows and strikes until endgame? I could maybe understand that if the story looked really cool, kind of like the first mission in the beta. But these missions seem like the same sort of stuff from the first game.

At least there seems to be more shit to do in this one.

Knack is just kind of a shitty character, the gameplay has always been simple yet serviceable. These games are like better versions of the Lego games without all the bullshit puzzels that nobody likes. Yet those games score/sell fairly well due to the licences attached.

Kiryu does win.

Also I dont think anyone should pressure Dan into playing another one of these if he doesnt want to. Same with Vinny and Shenmue, it's not very fun to watch people get frustrated, for me at least.

It's the same reason I had a hard time watching "Bradley May Cry" it's fine when you are expecting to be frustated (like "Braking Brad") but accidentally commiting to something you dont enjoy just sucks.

I know it's been said before but you can transfer money between characters. There is a "Mr Moneybags" in the bar "Vincent" for Kiryu and one next to "The Grand" (playing a guitar) for Majima. At first you have to transfer specified amounts but later you can transfer as much as you like without losing any money, which helps when you can change between characters.

That being said I dont think you'll need all the moves or a bunch of money but I would suggest you get that ability in the beast style that lets you withstand bullets while blocking, just to save Dan some frustration.

No more Jennifer Carpenter huh? Cant say she was that great in the first game. (although she didnt have much to work with) I wonder if Anson Mount is still voicing Sebastian.

I just hope they're not forcing Rare to churn these out to sell Doritos or whatever.

@nnickers: I'm with you, and I tend to prefer sci-fi settings to fantasy.

Vanillaware's other games were really vibrant and looked great. (especially on an OLED vita screen)

But this is just a short trailer and i'm guessing all the action takes place in mechs. I expect this game will operate on a scale unlike other Vanillaware games which should be interesting.

Well i'm hyped. There have been dozens of 2D Metroid clones over the years, and while i've enjoyed them I kept expecting/waiting for a game (or games) to fill the void the Prime series left yet there hasnt been any.

Spoilers: They're both dead! (for me anyway) I'll probably play this at some point but the way they made optional choices canon always rubbed me the wrong way in Dishonored, even the first game retconned itself for me.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I like power armour. Bioware have made some good games, lets see whats up.
