I know it's not Nintendo but I think Monster Hunter Rise & No More Heroes 3 would have come out this year had it not been for Covid. I'm not convinced we'll see BotW 2 or Metroid Prime 4 next year but would love to see it. I'm also not sure what the situation is with Bayonetta 3, I feel like that should have come out by now regardless of Covid.

If you're going to make an edit (OP) maybe rename the thread to something less hostile sounding? Like "In defence of next gen" or something like that? Just a suggestion. I agree with your points by the way.

I feel the same way you do but instead about Yakuza going turn based. There have been a lot of these games though and i'm glad the developers are trying something new.

I havent been a PC gamer for awhile but it sounds like thats the route you should go if you can get a 3080 or whatever.

Personally I'm in no rush to get either console. I'm sure Cyberpunk will be a bit of a mess on current consoles (CDPR games are generally a mess at launch regardless of platform) but I survived Fallout 4 so I think i'll be okay.

@navster15: Yes they are (sadly) but going by this past generation it's been pretty easy to save £10-15 buying physical games from online retailers in the UK. (as they come out) It wont be like that at the start of next generation much like it wasnt this generation but if patterns repeat themselves as they tend to do it will be like that in the future. Not to mention you can lend/borrow/sell discs.

Also, I dont get people saying games havent gone up in price over the years, in the UK at least it was £40(PS2)£50-60(PS4)£60-70(PS5) I know some countries have it worse and I sympathise but i'm making an arguement for discs not UK prices being shit. (and yes I know some N64 games cost £70, that was lunacy)

Losing the disc drive is a bigger deal than not having 4k to me since I have a bunch of games on disc dating back to the OGXB, so the discless alternative is not for me. I think for that reason alone the Series S & The PS5 digital arent great value, especially considering that 'AAA' games are now going to cost £70, you're going to lose whatever you think you're saving real fast.

Apparently Sony are saying the "Also available on PC" text was an error or something. Same with FF16.

The pricing seems fair but I agree with people that there doesnt seem to be much in terms of exclusives around launch, that's generally the case though. (what did we have last gen? KZ:SF & Knack?)

The way I read the PS+ collection when watching the trailer is that you would get all previous PS+ games but it could just be the selection they showed, if so that's pretty weak. (good/great games but I played them all years ago)

I might buy it on sale or something some day. I loved the original but i'm in no rush to play it again.

I do find it weird that they said this was the first remake ubisoft has done when they did the same thing with Prince of Persia Classic in 2007.

It's great that it's free but I dont see myself resubbing PS+ for it.

I wasnt a huge fan of the combat in this game, it felt kind of sloppy compared to Nioh & Sekiro.
(I think Sekiro is also getting a free update quite soon too)
