@dave_tacitus: hahaha I knew it. Not even a second chance for the format? Nope, straight into the dumpster with that idea.

F1 strategy group / management crumbled under pressure of all the negative tweets and the comentators slaging it off I'll bet. I wasn't a big supporter of this new format but come on, at least give it a chance untill the kinks get ironed out.

This whole situation just makes me feel like their desperatly grasping for anything that might shake things up, without actually knowing who they are doing it for or what new audience they want to reach. Don't get me wrong I'm all for trying to keep things fresh but this just seems like they have no confidence in their own damn ideas.

"Oh you want elimination style qually right? Ok, we can do that. Oh wait you don't? that's fine too. Oh, you want new v6 hybride engines so the manufacturers stay interested? Ok. Oh now that the manufacturers have invested hundreds of millions of dollars into the development of these engines you don't like them? Ok I guess you can have V8's again if you want.

Just please please pay attention to us we're so relevant. For the love of god, please just like and subscribe"

@dave_tacitus: not sure, they seem to have Dutch comentary over it but who knows maybe they did a deal with sky. I'm just surprised they would air this on a dedicated sports channel here, when Rugby is a pretty niche sport here. The only reason I even know they play it here is cause my older brother played for a 2 or 3 seasons, he actually got invited to try out for the national squad... which should give you some idea of the level of competition here.

@twistedmerc94: Were they booing or shouting Louuuuuuis? have heard that in the past and confused it for booing

Edit: Also on a side note, can someone explain why they are airing 6 nations rugby Itally vs Wales on a Dutch sports channel? Don't have a problem with it but Rugby isn't really a thing over here.

@kid_gloves: It's actually not so much the tone or type of comentary for me, it's just they have a lot more people at the track and thus a lot more info, and ad to that a 2 man team in the comentary box who can play off each other as opposed to my Dutch coverage with just the one guy at the track and some pundits in the studio back in Holland. The sky coverage does tend to be a bit Hamilton/British driver centric but I can live with that for the amount of acces the sky guys manage to get.

Edit: I do admit Martin Brundle can be a bit sour at times but on the whole he does do a really good job giving a drivers perspective on the goings on.

Also anyone else have flashbacks to that martin brundle crash in 96 when seeing Alonso fly?

@dave_tacitus: certainly seems like an upgrade, unfortunately I have to make do with Giedo van der Garde and Robert Doornbos on my side.

Had to have the Sky stream in the background for some decent comentary :p

Great result for Haas and Grossjean, really impressed with that. I feel sorry for Franz Tost if this first race is anything to go by, the torro rosso garage is going to be in open warfare for the rest of the season

Edit: Sir Jackie on the podium

@kid_gloves: I think mercedes are pretty confident on how long they can run these mediums seeing as they did all their running in testing on the medium tyre
