This "uproar" has has more to do with a few people disliking Patrick rather than the way Patrick does his job.

@EnduranceFun: Good point. I'm just not sure how to contribute to this discussion other than saying 'yeah, shit's fucked up' and calling people out on their dickishness. I can only hope Patrick reads through this, sees that people are interested in the issue and decides to pursue the topic further. Bringing this stuff to light and fostering a discussion could be an early step to bringing about real change and letting women involved in the industry (or interesting in being involved) know that they are valued and welcome and all that fuzzy jazz.

@CaptainTightPants: Kind of unfair to castigate somebody for what an article could have been, rather than addressing it as is. Also, he really wasn't casting aspersions on an entire gender.
