"Wow, Dyack apparently isn't the only major figure at neogaf, David Jaffe weighed in on the whole situation earlier. How come gaf gets all the love? I don't recall anyone big ever mingling at gamespot."
Content. On GAF, at least the discussion is somewhat intelligent and the threads that deserve replies/discussion. Here, people go crazy over boobs.
Not that there's a problem with boobs, I just think developers would rather discuss video games where video games are the main topic.
Plus, GAF is a largely recognized forum. It doesn't really have any kind of alliance.
Personally, this whole even has made me not want to touch a Dyack game ever again. If someone gets all uppity about something as simple as a video game, I don't think they really have it in them to even make a decent game.
It's the same as every other art form. You'd love to take the person playing/watching/reading and tell them what you were thinking as you made it, but you can't. You may have helped make the game Dyack, but when someone else is playing it, it's now their game, not yours.
I'm sorry, but this is fucking retarded. Not only are these people terrible parents, but this kid is so near-sighted as well. Guitar Hero becoming less popular on the side, "professional" gamers make very little money in the first place, and so far he's only made about $1,000, which you could earn at a minimum wage job within a few weeks, even with school.
The thing that bugs me is that this will (most likely) come back to bite gamers in the ass. Kid drops out of school to play video games? People aren't going to blame the parents; you've seen how the violence/video games argument worked. They're going to look at this kid and see him as a "gamer", and they'll think that this is our mindset.
Everyone should listen to this. The kid is just a stupid shit who just wimped out of high school. I sincerely hope that this kid gets whomped and gets his ass sent back to public school. I mean hell, I'm good at Guitar Hero, but by no means do I want to drop out of school.
Edit: Also, why Guitar Hero? You can't beat 100%, so once you 100% all the songs, you're done. Why not choose Starcraft or Counter-Strike, where you can actually be better than everyone else.
Yeah. At the GameStop I work at, we just got a box of cards and we pass them out as people pre-order the game. If you've already pre-ordered it before the promotion, just go into the store and tell them you'd like to pick yours up.
