Game of the Year 2020 - The Top 10 Games that Hang on My List & More Awards
By ClintDriftwood 0 Comments
Man that was some year, huh? Not only did video games become a solace to hide from the shitshow going on outside in the world, they also gave new a plethora of other world's to explore when my own was locked down. Here's my own GOTY, with a few awards following that of the on-site format too.
The "Lockdown" Game
Here I'd like to give a special mention to four games in particular that do not actually make my list: Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Modern Warfare and Battlefront 2. The former coming out right at the beginning of lockdown in the UK gave me a schedule for months. It helped me find a way to regiment my day while working from home. I really did not expect to like this game at all, it is the first I have played & I haven't touched it since returning to work (yeah, the Tory Government here are really fucking up dealing with all this shit too) but it allowed me to explore New Horizons in-game and navigate new horizons in the world more effectively. All three did, especially during a time in which there was a dearth of other releases - but unfortunately do not make the list.
These daily-chores helped my around my own working schedule, forced me into a routine. Or at least, adjust and ignore a pretty fucked up world by giving me new ones to explore. BF2 came out
