I paid for a month of GB Premium to watch some old This Is The Run, and found that the site no longer includes Youtube links as an option? I assume this was just to lock down content? I can't imagine another reason to remove them entirely.

I can't act like I haven't been down on new GB, but this takes away about the last thing that brought me back to the site. I have fiber internet, and it still has always choked on the old HD videos, so the YT links were the only way I could smoothly watch them.

Guess I'm glad I only paid for a month...

Speaking generally, At this point GB is competing for its own fan base with Nextlander and Jeff’s show. Fandom dumping the most popular new hire along with the longest tenured face left? While competing with those other entities? Absolute clowns.

I agree so hard with this. No company deserves Giant Bomb.

What’s aggravating is that Jess was what reignited my love of GB content.

Fandom screw up so much harder than they know.

And on top of that, I can’t help but worry about Jason and his family. I love them so much.

I’m so angry.

Gotta feel bad for GB and everything the crew has been put through. Really hope things get better, more stable for them.

I’ve felt the same way. I never said it at the time, but it always bothered me that previous leaving alums got whole videos showcasing them, and Alex, Brad and Vinny didn’t even get a whole one between the *three* of them.

And Jeff was treated even worse. I honestly think the new group and direction has been working pretty well, but as far as my love of Giant Bomb as an entity, this is irreparable damage for me.

Too many people are trying to scold people for not reacting to what’s happening in a way they deem appropriate. Be an adult. This is all raw and new and people are processing. Let them be upset.

As far as the timer:

The first thing you do after a big change like this sets the tone for what people expect. A giant timer is what you do before a big PR push. Giant Bomb has always been a place to escape marketing BS and hear how the staff really felt. People are right to get a bad feeling about this because whoever is making these decisions isn’t equipped to maintain the integrity and respect that Giant Bomb has cultivated. And a timer to hype up the loss of the beloved founding member and last original is a strong indicator of that.

I've long grumbled that this site needs a simple portal to get to their retro games content. It's spread out across Old Games, Party of One, and several other show headers. But that's not what I'm trying to solve today.

Not long before lockdown, it was becoming a common conclusion to UPF for Jeff to show off random games on the MiSTer. Does anybody remember the first show that started? How long it went would be nice, too, but the start date is paramount to me. I'd like to go through them all and see what I've missed on my own MiSTer now that I have one.

@clintlandon: I feel the need to add, I get why people like this for Game Pass. The service is a good deal and it’s about to be infinitely more so.

But I don’t *need* this service, so I’m willing to prioritize not financially supporting them now. It’s likely that’ll change at some point and I won’t be able to avoid the service. So I’ll abstain while I can.
