Why you should not be complaning that TF2 is free

I've been looking at the reaction to Valve making TF2 free and I'm getting pretty sick of the argument of "but I payed $20 for it and now anyone can play it!!"

Let me get this out of the way first. If you purchased the game a week or two ago then talk to steam support. Steam support is known to be pretty helpful and they will most likely refund your purchase.

Now allow me to put this whole thing into perspective. Many people purchased TF2 as part of the Orange Box set which was already an amazing deal in the first place. Even if you did not purchase it as part of the Orange Box, if you purchased it regularly (excluding all the sales!) you still received a very good deal as there have been many updates for the game. The game came out in October 2007. A new update just came out yesterday. Updates are still going after over 3 years!

We the PC gamers should stop acting like self entitled assholes all the time. Do I need to remind you of the Call of Duty that gets released every year for $60 and the multiple $15 map packs that get released, even having the nerve to release them sooner on the 360 even though we still have to pay full price? We should be grateful for what Valve has done because if we act like this why do we deserve any of what Valve has given to us?

Videogames at School Today!

Yeah, so I was doing some work in the computer lab when I heard a lot of laughing coming from behind me. I saw around 10 people gathered around some person's computer screen. Thinking it was some stupid video I probably already saw, I went to go check it out. I saw the person playing an Xbox so I immediately thought it was Red Dead Redemption. However, as soon as I saw the screen, it was Deadly Premonition! I couldn't believe it at first, but after I saw that infamous red loading screen, I knew for sure. It's crazy how this game already has such a huge following. Just watching 10 people standing there laughing while he played the game totally blew my mind.

Have you guys seen anyone else play this game or is it still an obscure game?

Why better isn't always better.

I have had the recent experience of switching from a normal mousepad to a glass one. While it may seem like a pretty straight forward switch, it was actually kind of a weird transition. When I first got the glass mousepad, I actually hated it. I'm the kind of person who picks up their mouse and moves it every time they want to turn around in FPSs so it became very annoying went I wanted to turn around in the game so I lifted the mouse up and placed it back down. I was not used to the hard surface. Also, the mousepad got dirty frequently because it was made out of glass and I constantly had to clean it. After a couple of weeks, I felt like I had enough and switched back to my old mousepad. Here is where a shock came in. While before, my old mousepad felt fine and I had no desire to change it, now it felt rough and coarse and when I moved the mouse on it, it seemed that it required 3x more force. Since then, I have gotten used to my new mouse pad and it seems like I'm totally reliant on it now.

Anyways, moral of the story, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
