I'm on Ironman mode so if anyone dies, I have to live with it. It's the only way to play the game in my opinion.

Looks good but you might want to consider a small SSD to install your OS on. You can turn your computer on and have everything running in 20 seconds. If not, that's cool too.

@Liber: Steam servers are always slow after every update. I remember multiple updates where the steam servers were down and nobody could use their unlocks.

@LordXavierBritish: Care to explain? If it's about the cheating thing, valve said in the FAQ that they are aware that people can make multiple accounts to bypass bans and are keeping an eye on that. So lets hope they are able to handle it.

@TheHT: Yeah I'm sure it's a universal thing and yeah, perspective is very important. When you look at that TF2 history page with all those updates, it's hard to be angry

I've been looking at the reaction to Valve making TF2 free and I'm getting pretty sick of the argument of "but I payed $20 for it and now anyone can play it!!"

Let me get this out of the way first. If you purchased the game a week or two ago then talk to steam support. Steam support is known to be pretty helpful and they will most likely refund your purchase.

Now allow me to put this whole thing into perspective. Many people purchased TF2 as part of the Orange Box set which was already an amazing deal in the first place. Even if you did not purchase it as part of the Orange Box, if you purchased it regularly (excluding all the sales!) you still received a very good deal as there have been many updates for the game. The game came out in October 2007. A new update just came out yesterday. Updates are still going after over 3 years!

We the PC gamers should stop acting like self entitled assholes all the time. Do I need to remind you of the Call of Duty that gets released every year for $60 and the multiple $15 map packs that get released, even having the nerve to release them sooner on the 360 even though we still have to pay full price? We should be grateful for what Valve has done because if we act like this why do we deserve any of what Valve has given to us?

The number one most important thing in FPSes is positioning. If possible, try to stay away from the middle of the map. Stay closer to the edges and try to use the environment as cover if possible. Of course there are specifics based on each game and each map but this is the general rule that applies to everything.
TF2 is a great way to start as I find it easier than many other games where you die quickly. If you find out that shooting is not your cup of tea you can go a support class like Medic or Engineer and still benefit your team greatly.

Good luck and if you get frustrated, remember to take a break!

Probably because they would spend time developing the game and then some new tech would come along and they would have the genius idea of starting from scratch with new tech. The people managing that team really did a horrible job. The game wasn't great but at least Gearbox (or any other half decent developer) was able to finish the damn thing.

Yo, you wanna write my shaders for me?

I seriously hate all developers that start planning for a sequel before the first game is done. "We're gonna make it end here so players can't wait for the second one!" They are so full of themselves it's unbelievable.

Going back to what everyone was saying about expecting the story to be dumb, I don't know about you but when I beat games I don't go, "Well that ending sucked, but killing a lot of dudes makes up for it."
