This. I wrote a whole article on the matter. If Ed Boon makes good on his effort to attract the hardcore (and he seemed REALLY inspired by Evo this past weekend), we might actually have a rare relevant MK on our hands. I love UMK3 and all, but I'd like a second MK game to get behind, too.

Just a couple of VF5 matches from a couple years ago that I'm proud of. I just wish I had footage of my matches with Konjou Akira from around that time.

My opinion on the post-KO hit is essentially neutral. I never really had an opinion of it one way or another.

That being said, I don't think there's any negative whatsoever to getting rid of it.

This.  Now I know for a fact that they're going to pull some really obscure Easter Eggs out on us like they did back in the day, but they won't be able to sit on anything for months like they could in the 90s.  People will be gathering on message boards, checking the disc content directly, organizing massive groups to tear through any Versus Screen or Ultimate Kombat Kode elements they might throw in.  Everything will be found within the week of release unless Netherrealm Studios does something EXTREMELY sneaky.

Ed is confusing.

I really, really want to be optimistic about this game, and even wrote an entire article about BEING optimistic for it...but there's so much double-talk going on that I'm starting to have my doubts.

"This whole game is really a fan service game."
"This is the first Mortal Kombat game that we are actively targeting the more hardcore people..."

And then I had to cringe when EGM asked him if he'd prefer this game to be respected more by casuals or the tournament players.

"Everyone sort of realized that there were some people who couldn't do, you know, [Street Fighter IV ultras], in the midst of a fight. The ones that can do it love it, but when it's all said and done, we want to sell four or five million games."

I can't help but worry that he's going to panic and dumb this one down before release.

Actually, I play Akuma, Abel, and Bison.

I just tend to laugh whenever I see unnecessary and misguided rules.

I just can't help but laugh excessively at the decision, that's all.

Reminds me of a tourney going on over at NikeTalk that has a "no cheesing" rule.

It's amusing to watch this stuff play out.

Uh, Seth is middling at best.  His HP and stun are trash and his overall game is average.
