For what L4D is at its core it should only have been dlc anyway. A yearly downloadable franchise would be the best venue for this type of game and I think that L4D2 may be the start of more L4D games to come out digitally. Of course assuming that L4D2 is real.

I believe that instead of spinning this as just more downloadable content valve is putting a few new things into an old game and calling it a sequel. A sequel wether downloadable or physically released will bring in more revenue then any L4D downloadable content. If this is real it can't just be downloadable content for the first game. Then they wouldn't have called it L4D2. Most probably this is a shitty download only release sequel.
