I'd start with a 2d Metroid, e.g. Super Metroid or Metroid Zero Mission (remake of the first game). If you're obsessed with chronology (like me D:), you know where to start from !

I'm currently playing Metroid Prime Trilogy (not done with MP1 yet), and I was thinking about the Metroid series as a whole. Is it just me or is the franchise esentially flawless ? I can't think of any bad or even mediocre Metroid game (I even enjoyed Metroid II).  Maybe Echoes will prove me wrong.
